So its all about atoms merging together, and with that hunch it means we can do stuff like create Steel, which is the product of forming iron through heat and pressure and hardening it by forcing carbon atoms inbetween steel ore's atmic covalent bond lattice structure to strengthen it.

the universe started with a bang and protons and electrons populating it. through the coalescing of these parts due to the force of gravity, they sometimes bounce into being coupled together, forming hydrogen(atomic number 1), the most basic element. given enough time, you bump enough hydrogens together and they're nuclei merge together and doubles the size and we get helium (atomic number 2), keep this up and you eventually get carbon (atomic number 6) and iron (atomic number 26). usually a star blows up after its hydrogen core converts all its fuel to a steel core. that star goes supernova, spreads it's dust all over a region of space, and then thr coalescing starts again and you get a second generation star. when that star blows up, bash together more hydrogen and helium in the presence of iron inside the gravitational forces of a star and in its death throws when it goes supernova you get uranium (atomic number 92). thats part of the reason how we know our earth required at least one or two stars to supernova to form our planet, since uranium is in the crust it means it could have only come from a second generation star.

Eldis, on the topic of astronomy - I took a college class named "astronomy" and thought it was going to be about memorizing constellations or some boring shit, but instead it was one of the coolest courses I ever took because it explained the formation of the universe up to and including our planet and solar system's formation, then went onto other celestial bodies that could form, descriptions of the lifecycle of a star and into it's possible conclusions: red dwarf, supernova, black hole, white dwarf, neutrino star, etc, with the most modern physics perspective i had ever experienced up until that point. the name of the text book we used was "Astronomy Today" and is still out on my book shelf because it has cool pics, explanations and graphs. definitely recommend trying to get your hands on a copy or similar science based college style text book like that
