To the law student with the dad issue…I really recommend the book Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents, in particular chapter 8. You have to change how you communicate and relate to your dad. The book is super helpful.

To the caller with the toothbrush problem: you really might have a form of OCD called Relationship OCD. Things can set off nonstop rumination, mental cycling, and then checking (aka compulsive) behaviors when you’re in a relationship you really care about or interacting with someone you care about. I would look into some resources on ROCD because this doesn’t sound like normal relationship anxiety. And if you don’t check yourself, that’s how you end up self sabotaging relationships and having your fears come true which just re-enforces your OCD self protective brain patterns. I say this all from experience lol obviously I don’t know this man but what he’s describing sounds like what used to happen/ sometimes still does, with me and I have ROCD lol shout out to all Stavs neurodivergent fans! Lol we out here 🤘🏻
