What are weird customs/rules that are normal in Greece but weird in America? I’ve been dating an American for the past three years. We have arguments over our cultural differences. My American boyfriend thinks it’s weird that I won’t introduce him to my family. He introduced me to his family within few months and they’ve invited me on vacations and stuff which is nice of them to include me into the family. But in Japan it’s different. It’s pretty conservative. I’m super close to my family but I’m not going to introduce you to my family just because I’m dating you. Introducing a partner to your family is a big deal in Japan. The only time I’ll introduce my boyfriend is if we got engaged. In Japan, it’s done bit backwards. You get engaged first then you meet the family and ask the father for their blessings to marry their daughter. Also in my head I’m just like, why do you want to meet my family so much.
