As a survivor I find the insistence that stories like these can’t/ shouldn’t be funny so alienating. It’s tough to articulate this but there’s something to be said about how experiencing sexual abuse as a child is so fracturing and our stories go so untold that I feel like they almost require unhinged modes of telling that engage with and challenge tropes/genres? Something about allowing the complexities and confusion contradictory emotions etc helps me understand my own experiences and feel seen.

Just finished it and i love it so much! Definitely one of those videos that I had to pause multiple times to really think and make sense of. And it will still require multiple viewings (both movie and this vid) on my part! Youre so so smart! <3
