[SEVEN DEADLY DEMONS TAROT] 03 BEELZEBUB OF GLUTTONY
🕑 Added 2022-07-30 09:21:29 +0000 UTCThird Ruler of Hell: Here you have the card of Beelzebub of Gluttony!
Important: Because a patron has a trigger with the mantises, this card will have a censored version. If you feel uncomfortable seeing praying mantises, let me know by DM and I'll send you the censored version letter. In this version, Beelzebub will be leaning on a leaf and not on a mantis. The card loses its meaning, but it will be safe if you have a phobia of mantises.
You already know them, they are the Beelz of Lightbringer (Raziel when they were an angel... archangel). Since my Beelz (and the official canon Beelz) is also related to flies (they are called "lord of the flies"), and in Lightbringer specifically to all arthropods, I decided to relate their sin of gluttony to some grotesque scene within the world of arthropods, and the first thing that came to mind was the praying mantis eating its mate after copulation.
It's true that the seven deadly sins refer to human sins, but I had to link their sin with the Lightbringer lore, and I think this is the best way to do it. In addition, in this way the seven sins, despite the fact that they will continue to be centered on humans, become less anthropocentric and include the rest of living beings.
Funfact: Beelz's horns are those of the stag beetle.
You can access the sketches, the card without the titles and the lineart in the Eden Survivor tier.
And you can have the HQ version in Master of Lust tier.
