BTS Agency Big Hit Music Has A New CEO - Shin Seon-jeong
🕑 Added 2024-11-26 07:04:54 +0000 UTCThe CEO of Big Hit Music, the agency for groups BTS and TXT, has been replaced from Shin Young-jae to Shin Seon-jung.
On November 26, Big Hit Music announced, "We have appointed GM Shin Seon-jung as the new CEO."
Shin Seon-jung joined Big Hit Entertainment, the predecessor of HYBE, in 2010 and contributed to the birth and early growth of the world-famous artist BTS.
In particular, as the head of HYBE's T&D (Training & Development) business division and GM, she led the advancement of HYBE's new talent development system, such as trainee selection and development and operation of education programs tailored to the characteristics of each label. Artists who debuted through the T&D program include BTS, Tomorrow x Together, Enhypen, Seraphim, and &TEAM.
In recognition of her contributions, CEO Shin was named to the '2022 Billboard 40 Under 40', which selects young leaders under the age of 40 leading the global music industry, and the '2023 Billboard Women in Music', which selects female artists, creators, producers, and executives who have had a significant impact on the music industry, in the 'MULTI SECTOR' category.
With the appointment of CEO Shin, Big Hit Music is expected to further strengthen its sustainable growth and competitiveness in the global music market. Based on his abundant experience and expertise in the industry, she will take the lead in stabilizing and improving the label operation system and expanding new businesses.
Shin Young-jae, who led Big Hit Music for four years since 2020, will focus on his role as the first CEO of HYBE MUSIC GROUP APAC, which oversees the domestic and Japanese multi-label business among the music business sectors.
HYBE explained, "HYBE Music Group APAC is a new organization established in August in accordance with HYBE's new growth strategy 'HYBE 2.0'. It focuses on strengthening strategies and processes necessary for label business growth and innovation, investing resources, and improving music service functions."
note:
She is the woman who was featured in HYBE T&D story. RM spoke to her. She is one of the two people in HYBE who fought for Jimin.
HYBE CEO seems to rotate every 4 years, a year before the expiration of their contract. interesting strategy.
I also think she is the perfect choice. She has been with the boys since the beginning and has been loyal to Big Hit. She moved up the ranks.
Great great great choice

This is great news. I wish for her and BIGHIT's continued success. She will be at the helm in June 2025... so exciting - she will slay. 👍💜😁

This is great news. With women heading both BigHit and ADOR it is hard to make the case that HYBE is misogynistic
