Oh it definitely does I'm just really bad at faces so to me they look the same and I get my cues from hair and clothes, even in real life I'll ask my wife doesn't that person like so and so and her response is always,"no, not at all" or "I'm sure to you they do"
I don't think Meiying looks anything like Taohua save their hair and eye color. Their faces have a completely different bone structure. Taohua's face is much thinner. Wu Yong is Wu Jian's older half-brother, so they share many similarities. This story also has a setting similar to ancient China as well. Asian people are very homogenous, so unless you are adept at noticing the slight differences in facial features, it is hard to tell them apart. I think that fits with this setting.

Meiy looks like Tao Wu Yong just looks like an older Jian and Hou and Ailian kinda look the same but that's just to me I tell the biggest difference in the clothes which tells them apart but it's anime artwork so there's only really like 4 or 5 faces and the way the characters are told apart are hair style and clothes so that makes sense
Well... they are all from the same family. That said, Wu Ailian and Wu Taohua don't really look like the other two.

All the characters kinda have the same face
