WIEDERGEBURT Act VI: Chapter 30

Spatial Energy erupted around her fist, creating cracks in the tapestry of reality as she thrust it forward, slamming it into Zugarod’s back before he could respond. My punch, infused with death energy, would have destroyed a normal person’s head. Zugarod was merely launched into the air. It was at this point that Kari appeared, a ranseur of light in her hand as she descended from the sky and chopped him in half--or so it seemed.
I grimaced when Zugarod burst into particles of darkness.
“So he can use the darkness element. I should have known.”

His shriek was so loud everyone heard it as cracks appeared on his face.
Despite our attacks hurting him, Zugarod proved he was not someone we could underestimate when he erupted with Spiritual Power. Siv was thrown back. “Kari? Can you stop time for a second?” I asked.
“I can try,” Kari said as she landed next to us.
“Stop it around that wave. It only needs to be for a second.”
Kari didn’t respond with words as she furrowed her brow. I sensed the Spiritual Power well up inside of her, then transform into time energy, which was ejected from her body as a time sphere. She threw the sphere into the air. It soared above the black wave, then stopped, and then began pulsating like a beating heart. Each pulse created a ripple that washed over the waves and stopped it.
I knew would only have a second to do this, so I raised my hands into the air and channeled the Concepts of Life and Death. The two powers clashed and pushed against each other, refusing to mix. I gritted my teeth and continued to compress the two elements until they formed a swirling black and white vortex that I shaped with my will into a spear.
There was no hesitation in my actions as I threw the spear into the wave. The Concept of Negation was indeed frightening, but it could be overpowered. Doing so required someone to channel more Spiritual Power into their technique than the negation technique contained. A technique was only as strong as the amount of Spiritual Power channeled into it, after all.
My spear struck the black wave and blew a hole clean through it. That was not all. Following the wake of my spear attack was a powerful tornado of life and death energy that tore apart the rest of the wave. Zugarod, who had disappeared when he created his attack, was now visible again. His breathing was heavy as he glared at us.
“Damn you!!! I am going to skull fuck all three of you!”
Spiritual Power once more exploded from Zugarod before it quickly transformed into negation energy, but this time, the energy was sucked straight into his body. It was like his body had turned into a vortex that was greedily sucking up all the power it released.
I would have stopped this. However, the power erupting from him kept us from getting close. All we could do was stand there and watch.
Zugarod’s body became pitch-black--not just dark but pure black, like night without a single moon or star in the sky. His muscles bulged and contracted, but then they became more sleek and streamlined. The two horns on his head also twisted around to form something resembling a spike that traveled down his back. It wasn’t just a physical transformation. His power had increased to nearly six times what it had been.
I realized how dangerous this was. Acting quickly, I encased myself, Kari, and Siv in life and death armor. It was black and white armor that conformed to our body. It looked more like a bodysuit than armor. I knew it wasn’t much, but I hoped this would at least allow us to withstand a hit from this guy.
“He’s coming!” Siv shouted.
My eyes bulged as Zugarod appeared before me like he’d teleported. I barely had time to lift my arms and block his attack before he slammed his fist into my arm. It was my fake arm, which I suppose was a good thing because my entire arm crumbled into dust. The attack blasted me back, the wind whistled around me, and I wasn’t able to stop in time before plowing into the ground.
Blood welled up in my throat, but I stood up and spat it out. I looked into the sky. Zugarod was attacking Kari and Siv, but they were using some impressive teamwork to hamper his fighting prowess. Siv had wrapped her body in spatial energy, creating aarmor that meshed with my life and death armor. Zugarod slammed a fist into her chest, but it didn’t penetrate, and she grabbed his arm to keep him in place as Kari further froze him in a time lock.
She looked at me, and I understood what she wanted.
I disappeared within a streak of lightning, channeled as much life and death energy into my fist as I could, and slammed it against his jaw just as Siv let go. A gaping crack appeared in the sky.
Zugarod soared right into the crack, then Siv clenched her hands and the crack vanished like it had never existed.
“What did you do?” I asked.
“Ha… sent him… another space…” Siv said as she gasped and panted. Sweat drenched her forehead, which I wiped away with my hand and the water element.
“Do you think that got him?” asked Kari.
“No.” I shook my head. “Look.”
Kari looked up and paled when she saw black cracks appearing the sky, followed by gouts of dark flames. It was like a monster from the abyss was fire realm was crawling out of cracks in the earth, but this monster was far deadlier.
“Siv, take this.”
I handed Siv a pill, which she popped into her mouth without hesitation. She perked up instantly. That pill was something I had created from the alchemy lessons I’d been learning at the Hall of Heroes, and it was a hundred times more effective than anything on Miðgarðr.
At that moment, the sky was ripped apart and a wave of black flames descended from the sky. Kari, myself, and Siv spread out our arms as we channeled the concepts we had mastered into a powerful shield. Time slowed the wave down. Life and death weakened it. Then the black wave disappeared into a space made by Siv and vanished before the attack could hit anyone below.
Zugarod was glaring down at us with an enraged look in his bloodshot eyes. His skin was no longer black but a dull obsidian like before, and his shoulders heaved as he took deep breaths. Whatever that technique he used was, it had clearly used up a lot of Spiritual Power.
“You… damn… all of you… I will… hurk!”
Blood pooled around his mouth. I see. So that technique of his took a huge toll on his body. Well, absorbing that much of the Concept of Negation was bound to cause damage.
“Let’s go,” I said.
I didn’t wait for Kari or Siv to respond as I blasted off faster than I ever had before. I was like a streak of light as the world around me blurred. The Drakvar narrowed his eyes. “Are you saying I’m incompetent?”
I rolled mine. “I’m saying we believed the numbers might have been overwhelming.”
“Captain Nidhogg,” Kari said suddenly, glaring at the man. “This man right here is mine and Siv’s husband. You will address him with respect, or I will be sure to let Lady Schnee know about the kind of man you are.”
Nidhogg’s face turned bright red as he glared at Kari with a mixture of rage and lust. Seeing that expression made me understand. Captain Nidhogg looked like he wanted to say something, but Commander Vitra outranked him, and so he had no choice but to reluctantly withdraw and follow the commander into the fortress.

Just a thought, but you never mentioned Eryk making his elemental arm after the fake one was destroyed in the fight. While not impossible, the bath scene and the sex with Kari would be awfully awkward to accomplish with one arm. Maybe add that he made his elemental arm, or a couple sentences about the extra effort of only using one arm? Especially when Kari was on her back and he had her leg on his shoulder, while he was also rubbing her clit.

Love the chapter. Couple mistakes though. "Working with Siv to protect Kari as age systematically dismantled" should be "as she" "Siv's nipples were a nip hard" "Her head was resting on my lap as I ran my hands through her head". Pretty sure you meant hair
