A big thank you for supporting me and this project. See below for the changes introduced in version 1.5. This is a significant update to the script’s core force feedback system, and your feedback will be crucial in making sure everything feels just right before the public release.
Combined, these changes aim to deliver a more cohesive, natural experience, especially when driving at the limit. You should find it easier to feel what the car is doing and make corrections.
Major changes:
Added: Self-Aligning Torque (SAT) System
(Note: This change significantly increases perceived FFB strength. You may need to reduce Assetto Corsa's in-game FFB gain to maintain a comfortable level.)The wheel will now naturally want to unwind and self-align when accelerating out of corners
Wheel behavior feels more predictable and stable under power.
Front-wheel-drive cars are now much less likely to want snap-steer into corners.
Improved on-center FFB feel
Fixed: Oversteer behavior
Previously, the wheel would become heavier during oversteer — essentially operating backwards.
Now, the wheel gets lighter as rear grip is lost, making it easier to “feel” for grip by sensing weight returning to the wheel.
Changed: Consolidated Slip Angle Haptic Effects
Merged understeer, oversteer, and lateral slip into a more unified system
Smoother transitions between different states
Improved frequency scaling based on vehicle speed and slip intensity
Added: Suspension force multiplier for front-wheel drive
Suspension force has been a major source of oscillation in FWD cars
This new multiplier reduces suspension force dynamically based on front wheel power delivery to help stabilize the wheel and reduce snappiness.
This won’t eliminate oscillation entirely, but it is step in the right direction.
Revised Default Settings
Reduced front force to the default (45 → 40)
Decreased damping (15 → 10)
Suspension Travel Force Multiplier: halved to increase the useful range of the Content Manager slider
New default: 20
To match the 1.4.2 value, set it to 30
Lateral Slip:
Max Lateral Slip frequency (80Hz → 70Hz)
Oversteer and Understeer effect now scale with the Lateral Slip intensity slider
Max Oversteer frequency (60Hz → 90Hz)
ABS frequency (10Hz → 20Hz)
Other
Refined intensity multipliers across various haptic effects

Thanks for the feedback! Which car are you testing with out of curiosity? Technically, there is nothing fundamentally changed between 1.4.2 and 1.5 besides some additional (missing) centering forces from SAT. I think that's where personal preference comes into play. :) In 1.5p2, you will be able to reduce the SAT force or even bring it down to 0 if you want. Hopefully that should allow you to get the feeling that you want without having to stick to 1.4.2.

So I think 1.5 is the worst so far. I can't get a connection to the car. I prefer to drive with 1.4.2. The effect is not very strong, but I drive with considerably more FFB than with the 1.5. The 1.4.2 is also very precise, I can place the car very well on the track. I found the first version to be the most realistic.

Thanks Giangi, I appreciate the feedback. I actually "chickened out" shortly before releasing 1.5 and turned down the SAT force slightly lol. Adding a spring slider is a great idea and it would definitely help find the right "default" for the mod as well. I'll work that into a p2 update once I collect a bit more feedback.

Good work, this script is one of the most realistic! But the not self-align of the wheels is (for now), the majour issue. The realignment force is weak and the wheels are too slow, so the oversteer is still incontrollable.. Maybe try to create a "spring effect" slider for increase these force.
