Psy-Optober: It Follows
🕑 Added 2022-10-27 20:46:27 +0000 UTCFor MKOFTEN level patrons, Thomas breaks down the modern horror classic It Follows. David Robert Mitchell's subsequent film, Under the Silver Lake, is one of the most important movies for understanding the Hollywood psyop and It Follows can help us better understand what's driving Mitchell. Thomas describes how the It Follows protagonist Jay relates to the archetype of the siren and the concept of the divine feminine, in contrast with Silver Lake's deconstruction of its misogynistic anti-hero. Ultimately, this creepy and effective movie is not a critique of the sexual revolution but a radical defense of it - even more so, it's all about becoming comfortable with the logic of nightmares.
