Following the launch of The Old Guard, Faolan’s Pen Publishing brings you an exciting Q&A discussion with authors Ada Hoffman and Glynn Stewart. The topic: artificial intelligence in the far future.
On the front lines of interstellar conflict, empires harness AI to define civilization—for better or worse. Diving into the worlds beyond our solar system, science fiction authors discuss how advanced technology might redefine power, resistance, and knowledge in the far future.
From human augmentation to synthetic minds, from corporate games to the nature of personhood. The stories we tell about artificial intelligence reveal how we value creativity, change, and each other.
Free and open to everyone.
Ada Hoffmann is the author of the OUTSIDE trilogy, as well as dozens of speculative short stories and poems. They are an autistic self-advocate, an adjunct professor of computer science, a former semi-professional soprano, tabletop gaming enthusiast, and LARPer. They live in eastern Ontario.
Glynn Stewart is the author of Starship’s Mage, where faster-than-light travel is possible—but only because of magic. Writing managed to liberate Glynn from a bleak future as an accountant. He lives in Calgary, Alberta with his partner, their cats, and an unstoppable writing habit.
