Secrets of the Nintendo Game Boy Boot Logo
🕑 Added 2020-10-19 11:46:01 +0000 UTCThe Nintendo Game Boy has a clever form of Anti Tamper that made it difficult for unofficial and bootleg games to be developed for it and it was all thanks to the Nintendo Logo thats displayed when you power on the handheld. Lets take a closer look at the Boot process of the Game Boy.

So was this still implemented in some fashion on the gameboy advance? Never had a GBC but I’ve seen that powering on with no cartridge gives a black bar where the Nintendo logo would be as well. On Gameboy Advance the Nintendo logo is simply missing with no cartridge (or poor contact as well if I remember correctly). Is this simply a visual reference or is it part of a boot check as well?
