I like Jenkem's less than serious approach to skate related journalism. They at least seem to have a more deft finger on the pulse than Thrasher's boring played out hell punk shite. Jenkem has the same New York bias problem as Quartersnacks too, but they do shine light on other avenues of skating in their articles.

Shop talks are good but most of the videos they post outside of that are kinda bad, and tbh I don’t know why they released a book with what seems to be a bunch of random information from the first look… it’s formatted like a magazine but none of the topics are relevant, to be fair though I haven’t read so maybe it’s good and the first look video was just bad or something idk…

You can tell what they put hard work into and what they don’t. The problem is more than half their content is the latter. :/ The mini docs and their interviews are their best content, and some of the parts and vids they get from outside sources.

Like my natural inclination is to like Larry Lanza. He seems like a cool, kinda normie, fried esque skate dude but some of the jokes that he makes just do not resonate with me at all. It feels he’s a sci op kind of like how you feel about deedz and how hes just kind of meant to appeal to the most amount of people which makes him kind of lame. By no means is he a bad host for the shop talk series but some of his questions are just cringe too and I get weird vibes from him. Louie Barletta interview was dope tho. I fw most of jenkem’s interviews (with the exception of some of the kader weed questions which just was weird)
