I meant aesthetically. It doesn't scream skateboarding. It always seemed way too clean cut to me. But yeah, a bit too on the nose then? Skateboards are made of wood, which is considered "earth," which is one of the four elements. Cool.

Also, because I’m a giant nerd, I did a quick check on the Thunder/Green Day thing and Thunder has been using the heart shaped grenade since ‘91 and Green Day didn’t add it to their logo until 2004 with the release of American Idiot.

I wouldn't consider different shapes as technologies, but I guess you're right. I'm referring to companies like Girl putting a top ply of carbon fiber in their Pop Secret! boards and Powell Flight decks and shit like that. I hear you tho

Real is the one deck brand at Dlx that really ever goes out of their way to advertise any kind of board technology/specialized shape(R1, low pro, ishod’s twin tail, heavyweights, full shape se, etc). They’ll even have little cardboard inserts to describe what these different shapes or technologies are.

Regarding the REAL logo, I think it's lack of creativity and the brands basic to nonexistent art direction are all intentional. They're not trying to persuade skaters into buying their boards with graphics, dumb collabs, "skate technology", or other marketing gimmicks. They seem to keep it "real" over there and let the super good am/pro skaters do the advertising/marketing for the brand. REAL is just serving us the "essentials" within skateboarding which are great product, great skating, and nothing unnecessary. I'm having a hard time explaining my thoughts, but you get the idea.

Always thought the Element logo looked like REI, Northface and other outdoors/lifestyle brand logos, which is not a good thing in my opinion. Nothing aesthetically appealing about it and not much to do with skateboarding.
