Awsome chapter. I hope there is someone left in the family who can guide him. So the church uses some kind of runesystem to power their spells? Great story and superbly written as always.

The Church (or at least orphanages nominally under their control) had issues with abuse toward their wards throughout the Post-war period. Yes, having Dom go through that is a little predictable, but it serves to focus some of his thinking, and hint at the church being more aware/dangerous that others might expect regarding magic.

Ah yes evil church. Well not necessarily but in this case ya. Also I do hope there is a hellsing abridge reference like bayonets for days.
