Well having some contrast and change of pace certainly keeps the expectation up no? xD Since you mentioned that you dont really like metal in the first place, for me it was actually the opposite. Me and my dad both really like metal and we already went to quite a few concerts in the states so i really came to appreciate live performances. Thats also a big reason why these anime opening songs grabbed my attention because of the sheer talent and the insane live performances of those same artists.
