Around 2016 a contractor was doing work on our house and he called one of the workers Edgar at some point, so my dad greeted that guy by name later and he didn't really respond. Turned out that was just what the contractor would call all the Mexican day laborers working for him. Till now I thought one of them might actually been named Edgar and the guy just didn't bother to learn any other names, but now that makes me think Jubio is right about it being a racist thing. Like calling every black guy Tyrone or something. Also turned out to be a big Trump guy.
