Susan #112 - After a Long Day
🕑 Added 2024-04-09 18:56:16 +0000 UTCSuu in all of her almost full-term glory!
I'ma put this here before the story as a heads up: It is the first time the midwife is mentioned, as much as the story below might seem to suggest otherwise. It's a bit of a leftover, but it would feel wrong to leave it out and not at all address how the heck Susan and Nathan are going to manage 7 kids at once!
-----------------------------------------------
March 19, 2018 - (8 days after #111, 39 weeks into Susan's pregnancy)
Nathan let his head hit the door behind him, as it fully closed with him leaning into it. He took one, long exhausted sigh. It had been quite the day.
It has been a day full of celebration - both joyous occasions had converged into one memorable event. Not only did it mark another year of existence for Nathan, but friends and family alike gathered under one roof to commemorate their new home too. Very much like Susan’s own birthday, combined with the babyshower. Despite the joyous atmosphere the air felt heavy, like a weight upon his shoulders. There were a lot of people he had to attend to. To make sure they had drinks, snacks and showing them the house.
His wife, Susan, nestled comfortably among the throngs of admirers, her enormous form taking center stage amidst the buzz of conversation. Her prodigious belly seemed to draw in everyone around her. Nathan hoped she was doing okay while he was yearning for solace within the confines of their humble abode.
On top of all that, the midwife also showed up unannounced in the afternoon to make the final preparations before Susan had to give birth. He wasn’t her biggest fan, but she took her job very seriously. As much as both of their parents want to help out and give their expertise, nobody had a clue on how to handle raising 7 babies at once, except for the midwife.
But all of that had finally passed, everyone had left and Nathan was alone with Susan in the bedroom yet again, before midnight struck.
“I’m glad today is over...” He clutched his throbbing forehead. He opened his eyes to see Susan in the midst of rubbing her belly with lotion. It was quite the sight to see how quickly Susan was able to do it. Quick circular motions and nonchalantly reaching under her breasts, which looked small by comparison to her stomach. But he knew that those things weighed well over 20 kilograms each now due to the pregnancy giving them another boost.
Nathan walked over and knelt beside her to assist her in said rubbing. As swiftly as Susan was, she could not reach the far end of her belly by herself. He reached over to the lotion to squirt some on his hands. Gingerly, he began to trace the contours of her protruding belly, carefully navigating around the prominent stretch marks that marred its surface. His fingertips danced across the swollen skin, eliciting gasps of delight from within as he reached the hard-to-reach areas where Susan couldn't quite touch.
“I hope you had a good birthday though.” She eventually replied sheepishly.
He chuckled in response. “For sure, it’s not one I will easily forget. First birthday in our new home and right before we get to meet all of our children.”
“Oh yeah? I’ve gotten quite acquainted with them by now.” Susan said with a grin, putting more lotion on her hands before massaging one of her breasts. “There’s twins right on top of here that love to greet their mother in the early morning.”
With great care and attention, Nathan's fingers delicately traced the contours of Susan's bulging belly, gently stroking the undercurves that were particularly sensitive. He continued while listening attentively to her every word.
“-Sometimes even rowdying up the others, I swear those two will be the troublemakers out of the bunch...” Susan finished with a sigh. She tried to look over her belly as Nathan started to laugh, but all she could see were the tips of his brown hair.
“Mothers do know best, after all huh?” He peeked back up, before giving the vast surface before him a kiss. Nathan counted his blessings when he witnessed Susan getting flustered about his comment, before composing herself in her own silly way. It was one of the many things he adored about her.
“T-That’s right. You better not forget that.”
“I wouldn’t dare!” Nathan joked, before leaning on his knee to stand back up. But he was caught off guard when something grabbed his shirt. He looked down to see Susan clutching the collar of his shirt.
“How abooout...” She started, curling up her lips. “-something fun before we go to bed?”
Nathan looked at her innocent expression, even though her intentions were anything but innocent. As expected from someone who loved being pregnant, but also unexpectedly given how tired she often was. He brought his hand to caress her cheek, making sure the lotion-infused parts of his hands were curled inwards.
“Anything for you.”
