Is it a grueling hours long wait like it is here? That's the worst part.

We very rarely have to go to our DMV equivalent, called Access Canberra. It’s actually a one stop shop for all of our local government services. Usually only need to go there to get a new license photo once every 5 years, although now we opt for a 10 year license. All car registrations are done online, we don’t have registration stickers for our cars, instead the police have number plate readers on their cars that detect unregistered cars. Other than getting your new license the only real reason to go to the shop front is for new number plates (although this can also be done online),new car registrations are done at the dealerships. However other parking permits like disability, loading zone, Medical permits do require a visit. Also if you wear glasses you do need to go for a test at the shop front.
