Overzealous anti-malware software is my guess. It does some communication with Patreon to figure out if you can use it and then takes some system information to generate the license file, so some anti-virus programs can misinterpret this combination as malicious.

Could U explain why there were 2 trojans in the LicenseGenerator file please? :)

Check the FAQ for common connection issues. This seems like Patreon isn't reachable in your country.
