Alright one of those ones that I had to check out now that J's watching it. Adam Sandler is hit or miss out of all his movies I've seen. Key takeaways from this one: 1. Definitely didn't expect it to get as dark as it did. 2. I should have seen the Christopher Walken reveal coming. Who else is he going to play in, well, anything. He's got that underlying malevolence no matter what he's trying to be, lol. 3. When the Fonz is your dad, you treat him with far more respect. Laugh heartily at all his dad jokes and act amazed every time he shows you that quarter trick. And, most importantly, tell him you love him EVERY DAY. He's old. He's not going to be around forever, and that goes for fans of the Fonz as well. 😎. I will say, whether the story is good or bad, the soundtrack for a Sandler movie is always classic. And thank you, Sandler, you bastard for looping that Cranberries song in my head the entire night. Valid question answered in the process. Apparently, yes, you have to let it linger. Do you have to, do you have to, do you have to...damn it!

Sandler has done a few dark comedy roles like Punch Drunk Love and Uncut Gems, and he did a serious romance kind of romcom movie with Salma Hayek called Spanglish. But the only straight up dramatic role I think he’s done is a movie called Reign Over Me with Don Cheadle from 2007. I don’t think many people remember it or knew about it in the first place.

It's ANOTHER Adam Sandler movie where he's an inconsiderate shlub with a super hot girlfriend/wife/love interest. It's like he got rejected so many times in his youth, he's spent his entire career stroking his own ego with who he casts to be his love interests.
