Halloween H40!!! (Sort of)

SO.....What is up, peeps. This is Blank, and just wanted to drop off a link to a side project I've been working on the last month or so for fun. Finally got it to the first cut I think is watchable/sharable, and you all are the first ones I'm gonna give an opportunity to see it.
So....I'm a Halloween fan. More so, I'm a Michael Myers fan, and have been since I saw the original when I was a kid. And like many, I was stoked for the newest trilogy that came out. And, also like many, I wasn't truly in love with the finished products that we got. But, I always thought there was some potential there. I always thought there was a pretty good Michael vs Laurie Round 2 type of story in there, if all the cringe and BS was just cut away.
So, that's exactly what I did. Or, rather, I'm in the process of trying to do.
I took Halloween 2018, Halloween Kills, and Halloween Ends, and cut them all down into a single 2:24 minute movie, all set on October 30-31 2018. No Evil Dr. Loomis character. No "Evil Dies Tonight!" mob. No Corey. No flashbacks. No time jump. None of that. At all.
It's not perfect, and one thing I wanted to limit myself to (at least for now) was only using existing footage from these three movies. So a few parts are a little quick/jarring, but that's just what I had to work with. No stock footage is included (although some may be added still, if need be), but I am still working it out, so maybe some will be eventually. But over three hours have been cut out, and some things have been reorganized to tell the story a little more closely to what I wanted to see. There might be a scene or two where something happens off screen (cough, Hawkins, cough), or Laurie's shirt changes mid scene. But that's all stuff I can't control, so hopefully it can be overlooked. LoL
So, if anyone is interested and has a couple hours to burn, check out the link above and feel free to download or stream from there. And, by all means, let me know what you think in the comments. Again, still working on it, but I think it's in a pretty good spot so far, considering what I have to work with. J hasn't seen any of these three movies yet, and we'll get to all three, if for no other reason I'll be able to show him the finished cut of this. LoL
But let me know, peeps. Would love to hear some feedback from anybody interested, especially those who like some of these recent movies, but like me, just wished all the bad stuff wasn't in it. Hopefully, this will be an improvement over the trilogy we got, even with some rough edges. But I think I might be onto something here, so let me know, peeps!

Thank you so much for this Blank! I really enjoyed your cut and it did a nice Laurie v Michael feel at the end. This is now the only version of those three movies that I shall watch. Well done sir!
Just wanted to say I watched through this 1 or 2 times and really enjoyed it. Never thought about editing up the movies together. I called it "The Blank Edit" on the hdd lol. If there's any updates/revisions, I'll def grab it. Thanks for sharing your project with us.

Looking forward to watching this. Thank you for fixing Evil Dies Tonight...hubby and I use "evil dies tonight" as a verb when something goes wrong or is bad LOL. The same director/team who did Evil Dies is doing the new Exorcist film that's coming out soon. I hope they do better with Exorcist than they did with Halloween, but looking at the trailer it looks like we have another Evil Dies Tonight! Same look, same color palette, same directing style, etc. Not sure if the power of Christ can compel anything good out of it. Oh, have you ever seen the tv version of the OG 1978 Halloween? They had to film some extra scenes to stretch it out for a two hour time slot on tv. Kinda interesting... Been a fan of the OG Halloween since I got my first letterbox vhs back in the day. ;) I liked the new trilogy somewhat, but def with you on it needing to have all the crud removed.

You should be proud of your work! People need to do a job that they love doing. Even though I don't know what you aspire to be. Be it as an editor; cinematographer; Sound Design, and/or other's. Whichever you have in mind as a part of motion picture industry, I'm sure you will leave your "mark". And, I'm your biggest fan!!

Thanks so much for sharing this, Blank! I'm a huge Halloween fan and was personally unsatisfied with the David Gordon Greene trilogy despite appreciating certain aspects of all three films. Can't wait to check this out tonight. Excited to see how you've chosen to streamline them into a single narrative; that's quite an editing feat!

It definitely did come off as an actual movie, you got it right imho. It prob helps you being a fan as well to know the good from the bad too lol. I enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to them if you do more.

I just hoped it came off more as an actual movie than a disorganized fan edit. I looked at a few others people did with these three movies and they were rough to get thru. LoL Super glad to hear you liked it, tho. I'm still tweaking it, but good to know I might be on the right path.

Laurie & Michael were never meant to be siblings originally. There was never meant to be a sequel in fact (it was meant to be an anthology series hence Halloween III), but the studio wanted a sequel, so John Carpenter just threw in the sibling angle (I think he said he was drunk when he wrote Halloween II because he didn't want to make the movie that studio was pushing him to make, although it's a great movie). That why this new timeline only counts the first Halloween movie. Michael was never really meant to have a motive for his actions, or at least we were never meant to know why he does what he does. That was part of the original horror of Michael Myers. It's just some random, psycho stranger stalking and murdering you. Despite the sibling connection being a main figure in the franchise up until this point, it wasn't the creator's original intent, and this timeline took it back to it's true roots. For that, I can accept the new timeline for what it is, although I do love most of the other timelines...
