First time watching for me, Good movie but it wasn't a fun watch, Dakota stole every scene she was in. I will probably not ever watch it again in the same way I will probably not ever watch The Joker again. The trailer I watched had me expecting something more along the lines of Taken trying to get the girl back rather than a revenge film. I think the dad was more stupid/foolish than evil. Sadly I think the kidnapping is worse today than it was when this film was made. I would not want to live within 200 miles of the border now.

I can't believe I've never seen this movie. Even though he died at the end, I'm glad the Voice didn't get a chance to kill him and he went out peacefully in his own way. Dang it JL, I was fine until you started to cry. Their relationship was beautiful and that he gave his life for hers is heartwrenching.

It really is very underrated, I love it. I've actually never seen Tropic Thunder. As the aunt of a child with special needs, I LOATHE that word. Kinda turned me off from wanting to watch. And I'm not someone who's easily offended.

La Hermandad by the way literally translates to The Brotherhood, it's not exactly original, lol. Functional I guess. Last time I saw Dakota Fanning in a movie was Once Upon a Time In Hollywood (which you should seriously consider a reaction to btw), she only had a small part in that but it's weird how unrecognizable she is these days. I actually didn't know she was in the new Equalizer - that's kinda cool, and it actually backs up my long-held theory that he was offered Equalizer - or the part was written for him specifically - based on his performance in this movie. NGL I'm more of a fan of her sister as an actress this days, she's super talented. It's funny when you have sibling child actors of similar age where one is more famous than the other it's the lesser known sibling that ends up having their stuff more together and turns out to be the more talented actor - there are tons of examples, but Kieran Culkin stands out as another good example of that. Spoilers follow: Tony Scott really loved that Now We Are Free song, so much so he ripped it from his brother's movie The Gladiator's soundtrack and it plays multiple times in this movie, kinda funny - it's no Gortoz A Ran, but it's still pretty good. Maybe it's a hint to the way the story was going to end. He was dead the second he decided to stay in Mexico - like Christopher Walken's character says, something to the effect of if we don't stop that bleeding today then you'll die, which he obviously knew when he decided to trade himself. That's the reason why they keep showing him in a pool, still bleeding. Anyway, good reaction.

I see people above recommending American Gangster - if you have the instinct to react to that, yes, go with it. Exceptional movie, Russell Crowe is really good in it too. Actually the cast is across the board really good, and it's a true story which is always good - the guy Denzel plays in that movie died not too long back, I remember seeing it in the news and knowing exactly who it was because of that movie. Also I could swear I remember you saying you'd seen Training Day, but if I'm wrong and you haven't frankly that should definitely be up there, the one Denzel actually did win an Oscar for - and deserved too. To be fair there's barely a dud in his entire body of work. To this day I still think Denzel was gypped for an Oscar nomination for this movie - probably not win, but at least a nomination. I got into trouble on another reaction this week for spoiling the end of this movie (I've been trying to get somebody to react to this for years and then two people do it in one week, like busses or something), won't do it again without a warning, but there are spoilers further down, because you can't talk about this movie otherwise, so if you haven't seen it you shouldn't be down here, run away.. Holy jebus I just realised I wrote an essay, more in the reply if you give a damn, hopefully it collapses..

You wanna see an even younger Dakota killing it, watch "I Am Sam" with Sean Penn. She was only 7 in that, and became the youngest supporting actress nominee in SAG Award history. She's 10 here. But yeah, I love this movie, Denzel was such a bad ass. I really need to watch The Equalizer movies.

This is based on true event's. Except it was two C.I.A Agent's that broke up this kidnapping ring. There was a book also based on these event's. I have more "true stories" coming up that I have ready. My pick for September is the film "Thief" from 1981. Blank knows it. People are excited. I hope you are too!!
