I had to think on this for cpl days. I went for Mars Attacks just because I could use a good laugh tough work weekend. Boyz is a classic seen it few times but it's lil heavy n I damn near cry when I watch it lol . Basic instinct I seen awhile back it's okay but not a stand out imo Sharon Stone makes a "point." If you know you know. Daniel Day Lewis always is a winner in my book his acting is top tier so powerful. I just preferred Gangs of New York(future poll nominee) to the Mohiccans again personal preference. Anyway just happy to be part of a group with so many different perspectives. Let's keep it going.

I've always wondered if that interview was her 'saying the right thing' since cinema has moved on? Late 80s and 90s movies always had 'key to the plot' stuff. I can't believe that all the actors were that naive as to what was going to be in, or out, in a shot. Not trying to be contrarian, I just find her recollection hard to believe. (She might have been pissed off about having to do it, and we know that kind of coercion and abuse went on, but it's a hmm imo).

God my life's a mess. I haven't seen Big Fish - and I almost just bought it off Apple based on your rec (I grabbed MA this morning in advance of it winning the poll) - but apparently I have the 4K disc of BF and have had it for over two years. Oops.

Boyz n the Hood is a great movie, so went for that. Tim Burton movies are all a bit samey to me, and whilst I loved stuff like Beetlejuice, Scissorhands and so on back in the day (and Miss Peregrine is alright recently), I'm not so keen on the style now. Still, not seen Mars Attacks so you never know.

I saw an interview years ago with Sharon Stone who, when asked about "The Scene" in Basic Instinct, said that she was told that some fabric was reflecting light, and that's why the special request was made (trying to avoid spoilers) for a wardrobe change. She genuinely didn't know what was going to be in focus, and she found out at the premier with everyone else, and swore she'd never work with the director again (I don't know if she did). "I felt slapped in the face."

J, you really need to see Tales from the Hood (1995). You will never look at David Alan Grier the same ever again. He goes against his usual "acting type" in this film. Blank, any way we could add this to this poll?

All good choices with a good mix of comedy and drama. Though it not might be the most popular, I have to go with Last Of The Mohicans. Read the book when I was a kid many, many years ago and have been a fan of the story ever since.

Not so much an advocation for this movie (its durn good, tho): the ending musical score for Mohicans makes me wanna run up a mountain delivering justice like a boss (I'd collapse, crying and pooing myself after about 9 steps, likely.) It's a helluva musical score!

I actually really like Mars Attacks, but him not having seen BitH is killing me, LOL. That movie is 32 years old and I still see references to it regularly.
