Hacksaw Ridge is a great film. Even more remarkable that it is a true story. You should also consider watching Taking Chance (2009). An emotional film about how fallen soldiers are returned home.

german tanks in ww2 were just a lot better than the US tanks better armor-bigger gun. Plus the US tanks were gas engines so caught fire and burned the crew alive when hit in the right place. german tanks didn't use gas motors. tigers tanks was not common for the US to see but had to be shot from behind for a US tank to kill them, the other armor was too thick.

Great movie, at the final battle went a bit "Hollywood" in some parts for my taste, great movie though.

I think the reason Norman didn't die, was he was found by a German who was as fresh as him, but hadn't killed yet. Thank you for watching it and giving it such a heartfelt outro. If you think about it, there were no back stories for anyone. "Gordo" was likely Mexican from the Spanish; "Bible" was from the South and Religious; "Coon-Ass" was just a hillbilly; "Machine" was a typist and we don't know anything about "War Daddy". It was April 45', so one month from the end of the war in Europe. At this point of the war, most SS soldier's were shot on sight. Like you saw, even their own people hated them enough to snitch on them. A great war film with a great cast. The only other Brad Pitt war film performance as good as this was in "Inglorious Basterd's"
