I had never seen that one before! That was a blast. Old-school disaster movies are such a treat. They were just out there blowing stuff up back then.

Pretty much. Tommy is basically the same Tommy in most every role he plays. I like it and clearly it works for his strengths as an actor.

those ice sickles wear from the Snowcap on top of the mountain and it melting that is what caused all the flooding something called a Lahar the same thing happened when Mt. Saint Helen's blew up in the 80's - the pyroclastic flow the big ash cloud that ran down the mountain could travel at over 200 MPH and can be between 480 and 1200 degrees in temp- if you are in its path there really is NO escape short of a move from the Lord. The grandmother is loosely based on a man named Harry Truman [not the president] who stayed at his home by the lake when Mt. Saint Helens erupted and he and his home was buried in less than a min. when the eruption happened.

I am going to let someone else sponsor Volcano I have something else in mind for next time. So far I have done Ben Hur, Quigly Down under, and golden eye this just seemed the next step with Perce.

The snorkel allows the engine to keep running even if it is underwater; without it the truck would die that's part of what happens when you see people cross flooded roads. the ash with volcanos is part rock particles one of the dangers is breathing it in it mixes with the moisture in your lungs and can actually form a type of concrete,.

For Safe hot springs try Hot springs Arkansas , they have bath houses or use to where you can try it in a safe place. The hot springs are not from a volcano of any kind so no big bangs here its all safe, just be careful with the public water fountains sometimes they are hot water.

Hot dang I'm happy to see this with you. I kept going back and forth between this and VOLCANO with Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Heche. I ended up not being able to pull the trigger on either one. This is easily a better, more realistic, film while VOLCANO is goofier and a more fun ride.
