Great episode! I have misophonia too, not very successfully managing it but I try! I feel in my soul the irritation at the constant coughing on the plane! My solution has just been having loud headphones for every flight & wearing ear plugs around the house.

In lieu of a limerick (Doug gets them this week since he’s special next week): I found it so heartwarming to have Maria and Scott on for both hours. She really ~effused~ the show with her cheery frankness, which I’m sure she bared more in her book. She created a safe space for herself and others. It was wonderful seeing all the Zoomers connecting with her and Tim opening up in an even easier manner than usual, in a way that felt like friends talking shop and venting—but still trying to keep each others’ spirits up. And ours. I appreciate the sincerity. Could do with less cysts, though, Vic 😆

Daniel, I’m sorry to continue this when we’re all here to laugh and have fun. I have deep love and respect for people in this community, which is why I’m saddened that you are able to insist on these talking points when Israel has completely annihilated the fabric of existence in Gaza. Infrastructure, schools, places of worship, parks, cemeteries, and entire neighborhoods of homes, businesses, and people’s livelihoods are obliterated beyond repair. There’s nothing left for 1.5 million displaced, starving, and traumatized people to return to. This has so clearly gone beyond self-defense or the tactical elimination of Hamas - Netanyahu’s regime is bent on destroying the hope of dignified life for Gazans and all Palestinian people living under a crushing, decades-long military occupation. Yes, Oct. 7th was a horrific tragedy. AND there is no deflecting or hiding from the fact that this is now an all out operation to uproot, exterminate, and expel Palestinian civilians.

I don't think anyone agrees with what happened on October 7. The urgent priority is in the overwhelming humanitarian crisis happening in Gaza. The Hague has ruled it a plausible genocide. Millions of innocent civilians are starving to death or worse, doctors, medics and aid workers are being murdered, entire families are being wiped out, and the Netanyahu government is committing state-sanctioned war crimes every single day. If you care about hostages and human shields, you care about the genocide in Gaza. This is the urgent priority. It is astonishing to see how brainwashed many Americans and Israelis are when the rest of the world can see it for what it is. Thank you Tim for taking the side of humanity and speaking truth to what is a difficult stance in US media.
