Cass stuffed another slice of meat lovers pizza into her mouth, the grease running down her gullet and into her waiting cavernous stomach. She let out a belch, did not wipe her mouth, and resumed eating. She was already a mess, not wiping her face wasn’t going to change things. Besides, once she got relegated to a hover chair, these types of acts were all but expected.
The shift from wanting to do something about her weight to just plain acceptance had come fast for the female bird. When she had originally gotten the chair, the first two days she did all she could to get out of it and walk to the rest room or walk to the break room to get something. However, once she actually tried the chair on a whim, she cursed herself for even attempting to heft her bulk up unless absolutely necessary. This was just so much easier and much more comfortable on her poor strained legs. Thus, from that point on, Cass only walked in and out of her building, that was it.
It was no wonder then that her weight exploded even further from that point. She could literally feel herself getting fatter, as her thighs pressed together to the point that she needed a car jack to open them, or when she thought she was scratching near her belly button, only to realize it was actually one of her breasts. Her cheeks had bulged out and merged essentially with her chins, which had also merged with her neck to sag next to her shoulders. It looked and felt like every part of her body was now swollen with fat, with some parts weighing as much as she had when she first started working at GluttCo.
It would have made her want to cry, if she by now had not learned to replace all emotions with eating. Anytime she was upset, she ate. If she was actually happy? She ate. Didn’t matter what mood she was in, she was going to eat. She knew doing it was only making things worse, but she had no control over that anymore. Her eating was tied to her emotions and they were running a muck on one another.
The worst part about all of this was she knew the other furs in the office were talking about her. She had held her head so high when she started, was so confident as she walked by in her snug casual outfits, that one could not be jealous. She looked like a fit model, and she knew it. Now, the only modeling she was going to be doing was for a guest spot on “Too Fat to Leave Their Home!”
As she thought about this, she tried bringing another slice of pizza to her beak, but she lost her concentration and dropped it. It plopped off of her chest and landed with a “squelch” on her asteroid sized gut. Cass groaned as she tried to reach her hands over her chest and belly to get it, but she was too full to bend much and her arms had seemingly receded into her body due to her sheer size. That pizza was not going anywhere.
“Ugh, I, urp, just wanted to have my pizza in, urp, peace”, Cass bemoaned to herself. The bird tried one more time to grab the slice, but it was pointless. It wasn’t going anywhere for the time being.
Sensing she had no other choice, Cass positioned her chair by her computer, wiped her hands as best she could on a baby wipe, and went back to work, the pizza slice sitting on her full belly, a treasure just beyond her reach.
