It was late at night and she just wanted to sleep, but apparently Pamela had a big meeting the following day and wanted everything to be perfect. It was irritating, but at least working this late, even from home, meant she wouldn’t have to go in in the morning.
With a grunt, the bird gripped the side of her new couch with both hands and pulled, lifting herself up and getting to a standing position. Just the simple act of getting off the couch was leaving her soaked in sweat, a fact that was not lost on Cassie.
She was entering her second year at GluttCo and in that time the fur had quadrupled her old weight, bringing her in at a robust 570 pounds. She was not aware how high the number was, but she knew she had gotten big. Trips to the gym weren’t even a part of her thought process anymore, she was either busy going to the office to do work or busy going to restaurants and fast-food joints to do work. It was a cycle that left her growing bigger by the day and less and less likely to do anything about it.
She kept telling herself it was a phase, that she’d bounce back at some point once it was no longer her boss’ busy season, but the truth was her appetite had grown far beyond what she ever thought it could be. She was a glutton, plain and simple. The idea of not eating for long periods of time sounded dreadful, and even considering going into a calorie deficit, something she had done numerous times in the past, made her cringe. Why should she cut back on eating? She just needed to move more, then the pounds would fall off.
Of course, that meant she’d have to be off her gargantuan rear for more than a few moments, something she hadn’t done in months. It took so much effort for her to get around now that she found her energy diminished by the time she took her first step. It also didn’t help that walking only a few feet had her covered in sweat and needing to take a breath, she was woefully out of shape and resembled nothing of the fit fur who went to the gym 6 times a week. Now it looked like the only training she did was for a pie eating contest.
Still, as big as she was, Cass was able to look around the office and see that she still was not the fattest fur, not even by a long shot. Pamela had been growing more and more rotund with each passing day, having to be fitted for a hover chair recently. It allowed the full ton fur to get around, even as her titanic, elephantine rear threatened to keep the chair fully grounded. Other furs were also in those chairs, a sight that kept Cass in a bit of a hopeful mood. She wasn’t that big yet, which meant she could still turn things around. She just needed time.
“I’ll, urp, lose this weight. I, pant, whew, just, gasp, gotta get a good nights sleep, that’s, gasp, all. That, wheeze, and some better clothes.”
As she uttered those words, the female bird felt her gut smack her thighs, resting comfortably on the upper halves as she stood. She felt her tail brush past her globular cheeks, followed by strains from the fabric that was trying to contain said cheeks. The shorts were on their last legs, having been on her for most nights when she got home. They were stretched to their limit, with her underbelly already having caused tears in the waist band. It was actually a miracle she could even get them on.
“Tomorrow, pant pant, I’ll have time to, gasp, go to the gym. Even, wheeze, if I just walk on the treadmill. That, that’ll help me drop some of these pesky pounds.”
As Cass said that, she continued waddling to the kitchen to get a midnight snack. Even as she was talking about losing weight, her stomach was guiding her to make that an impossibility.
She got closer to the fridge, feeling her gut brush the cold metal of the fridge. She shuddered, then pushed herself back as she opened the door. She gazed inside at the leftovers she had from her binge at dinner (pizza from Stuffies Pizza and a few tacos from Gordo’s) and licked her lips. She bent down to get the meatlovers pie, when a loud “rip” echoed through the kitchen. She immediately stood back up and reached behind as best she could.
While she couldn’t completely get around to her ass, she felt a strand of cloth and a tear, making her realize that her shorts had exploded (she also felt a small breeze on her crack, which made her aware as well).
It should have made her instantly put down the pizza and maybe go to bed. Or order bigger clothes so she could workout. Neither of those things happened as instead, Cass grabbed the pizza, tossed it on the island, and took a slice and stuffed it into her mouth.
“Can’t, urp, do anything about it now. I’ll, burp! I’ll just go to the gym in the morning, that’ll, that’ll start the weight loss.”
Cass tried reassuring herself, even as she ate well into the early morning, before she eventually waddled her way into her bed to sleep off the food. This made her unable to get up before work to go to the gym, which left her annoyed but reserved. She’d just go at lunch, as long as she got her work done.

God, I love it when a character has the mindset of "I can fix this, it's not too bad, it's salvageable" while just double fisting as much food as their mouth can fit. Sure, her fitness has taken a subterranean plunge and her figure has been obliterated, but she seems more...annoyed than unhappy.
