Bulking Up (And Out) Pt 14

Then it's on to finishing a commission and then, possibly, something big can start to get worked on for 2023.

Cassie glanced over at the front door, noting that all the street lights had been turned on. It meant that it was almost 8, which meant that the dinner rush was just about over. She sighed and dropped her heavy ass on her stool, barely hearing the metal creak in protest. She was too busy wondering what her next meal would be to be bothered with such auditory concerns.
As she slurped on her milkshake, the obese rabbit wondered if Annette would listen to her regarding her complaints about the chocolate crème pie and how she would be better served making them dark chocolate instead of regular milk chocolate. The thought of any pie had her mouth instantly watering.
“Mhm, pie” she moaned somewhat silently, though if you were close enough to her you could probably hear what she had uttered.
Cassie had been the talk of the town and all the other furs were caught up in watching just how fat she was getting. Crede was a very close knit community and when one felt insulted, all of them did. It’s how Kay had been so easily able to convince everyone to go along with her plan, even for people who barely knew her. The town just knew that fattening the bunny up was justice and would not stand in the way of letting one of their own get it.
By this point it did not really matter though. Cassie had completely embraced her new hedonistic lifestyle and it would take years of rehabilitation to ween her off all the culinary delights she now enjoyed. Worse, her metabolism was shot and converted anything she ate readily into fat. Add to that that the rabbit had gotten incredibly lazy and used to others doing things for her (like shopping and laundry), and there was no way she could have gone back to being a powerlifter. Kay’s plan was working flawlessly.
The only slight hiccup with this plan was her clothing. Cassie was outgrowing her uniforms and clothes at a tremendous pace, which was good, but the problem with that meant that on certain days the fur would tear her pants in public or her belly would not be able to be covered up. She did not acknowledge this but people like Annette knew that it probably would not be good if she had her hostess sitting essentially in just panties while customers tried to eat.
Annette was forced to buy custom made uniforms to fit her employee who had blown way past the largest size most places had to offer. She had to make excuses constantly as to why the bunny needed to be fitted for a new one, even resorting to stating that she herself had ordered the wrong brand, which would explain why the colors were off (Cassie was colorblind, which was a key piece of info for the restaurant owner). The rabbit just nodded dutifully and went about getting measured.
Having all these people go out of their way to do things for her made her feel important, which she knew she was. It was the recognition she had been looking for her entire life, and she finally was receiving it. She didn’t care if it was in a bumble fuck town, full of “hicks” and other lower class people. They knew how important she was, and that was all that mattered. She didn’t care that the weather was so up and down, or that the altitude made it impossible for her to workout, or that, yes, she probably had gained ten or so pounds. No, Cassie was being treated like royalty, and that was how she was supposed to be treated.
She smiled as she thought of what delicacies her boss would be giving her to take home that night, a bit of drool escaping her lips. She wiped it off with the back of her hand and smiled even more. Annette had told her that she had a surprise for her. She wouldn’t tell her what that entailed but she said Cassie would be very pleased. The bunny knew that usually meant a special dessert.
Her anticipation was building, and the rabbit was getting more amped up for this than she had for the biggest race or deadlifting competition she had ever entered. She LOVED her boss’ cooking and knew that certain things were only made to satisfy HER. The thought of being so important, such a focal point, only made the rabbit’s ego grow faster than her body. Cassie had always been conceited, even as a child, so everyone catering to her every whim was the pinnacle of her life.
She honestly didn’t know if she’d ever want to leave this town, even when Kay came back.

I'm going to start out by saying that I love the parallels/symbolism going on here. While it was never previously established that Cassie is colorblind, it fits that she both literally and metaphorically sees the world in black and white. Not to mention this self-imposed power trip going on inside her head based on the way everyone appears to be doting on her means they're feeding her ego in addition to her body. All that being said, I'm now 100% certain that Cassie has a mental disorder. She is monstrously obese and thinks she's at most gained ten pounds. How much would you bet that if she looked in a mirror, she would just see her original self, or perhaps even an image of royalty? She has body dysmorphic disorder, and it's absolutely destroyed her body.
