Status Update, and Bulking Up (And Out) Pt13

My friend had his surgery and is going through his cancer treatment, so that's occupied some of my time.
Also, my wife has gone back to work and works crazy hours so I have the baby most nights so my writing schedule is almost non-existent. Not trying to make excuses, just wanted to let you all know.
Not this week, but the week of the 21st, I should be back on a normal schedule. I'll be able to write a little bit and I have a commission I need to get taken care of, but I will definitely make the time to finish this illustrated story up too.

The banister to her second floor apartment shook, the seams on her uniform groaned, and the stairs creaked as the massive bunny rabbit struggled after a long day of work. She was carrying several bags of leftovers, a usual occurrence since the incident in the park two months ago. Annette had felt bad for making her suffer in that heat and as a result had cooked extra on the side, just for her to take home along with the leftovers from the restaurant and any other items she wanted Cassie to try and inform her on what she thought of it. Cassie was only too willing to accept this as an apology for the hard work she had done in the heat and for the giraffe’s cousin.
All of this food, along with the food she ate on a normal basis at work, had only further deepened her descent into obesity. When Cassie had come to the town back in March the previous year, she had been a muscular and fit 137 pounds, confidently walking the half mile to her job with no effort whatsoever. Now, here in June, the poor fur found that the same walk left her exhausted, sweaty, and, most importantly, ravenous. After her arduous trek through the streets and up those blasted stairs, Cassie would drop her bags in front of the couch, take her uniform off, throw on one of her freshly cleaned shirts from Sarah, and start digging in.
Unlike during the day, when she would actually enjoy the food, the first bag or so usually was just devoured so she could regain her strength from walking. She would always just tell herself that it was just her refueling after a hard day of work and burning off so many calories, but the truth was her greedy belly was just used to being constantly full, so this respite, however brief, only made it growl louder as it waited to be refilled.
That was with the first bag. The next two bags would be enjoyed thoroughly, Cassie making flavor notes as to how each item tasted, how much there was, and if it met her approval scale. She had become rather adept at noticing even the subtlest of changes in Annette’s cooking, and was actually helping business tremendously, as the majority of the suggestions were met with high praise from the town residents.
Of course, while she was growing the town’s palates, she was doing something else; growing in size. The rabbit, who always talked about clean eating, working hard and making clean gainz, was doing the exact opposite now. She was not eating clean at all, protein shakes the only semblance of her old life, and even those were filled with ice cream usually. She definitely did not work hard, both because she had grown lazy and also because the staff at work made sure she did not do too much so as not to burn excess calories. They were all too happy to just bring her plate after plate while they had a free moment, letting the bunny glut herself even more. Lastly, the gainz she was making were not clean and while she would have loved to have been able to gain weight this easily in the past, she would not approve of how much she actually had put on.
In the 15 months spent in this Colorado town, Cassie had put on 292 pounds, bringing her to a rotund 429 pounds. Any traces of fitness had been long buried under roll after roll of sweaty, furry fat. Her face had become completely round and was starting to swallow up her neck. Her arms, once sculpted out of marble instead looked like the sculptor had just kept slapping wet clay on them over and over again until he ran out and left them there to settle. Her breasts, which while bigger were still the least beneficiary of her growth, rested on her globular belly, sagging to either side when she sat. Said belly was presently in the process of bursting the button of another set of work pants, which would be the second time in 13 days. It was always tightly packed and even when it wasn’t it pushed out against the waistband of the cloth pants, trying desperately to escape.
Her thighs pressed mightily together, forcing her attempts at walking to turn into a slow, plodding waddle. They crashed together as she attempted to take each step, grabbing on to the sides for dear life as she did. Her hips, well those hips were starting to spread out enough that another person would have a difficult time getting by on the steps if she was coming up or down, that quivering see of flesh bobbing up and down as she tried to get settled. Stains of food and sweat littered her uniform as the fur tried to get to her apartment so she could rest, and, more importantly, eat.
“I’m, pant, going to complain to the super. They, gasp, need to install an elevator in this building! Gasp, wheeze, this, wheeze, isn’t right” she said out loud before removing her hand from the railing to wipe her face. Doing so almost knocked her back but she thankfully steadied herself in time.
“Imagine, huff, if, wheeze, I was out of shape? I’d, ga-gasp, die!”
She made note to contact the super as soon as she got back to her apartment, well, more accurately, after she ate the food she had brought home. She didn’t want it to get too cold after all.

Awesome illustration and descriptions, but I'm legitimately concerned for Cassie's mental health. Nobody could possibly weigh 429 pounds and still think they're in good shape without having something wrong up there. I honestly believe she may have some sort of body dysmorphic disorder.

Looks like she’s hefty at 400 pounds. Wonder how she will be like at the 500-600 pound range. Great job on the story.
