The morning air felt good on Cassie’s face as she slowly jogged around the town’s park. It was obviously the only park the little place had, but it would work. Each lap was just under a quarter of a mile, so she could do it a few times and build up a nice sweat.
The way her lungs were feeling, you’d have thought she had gone around at least 10 times already. In reality it had only been 5, a marked decrease in stamina in only four and a half months. Granted, some of this was due to the altitude, which was playing havoc on her no matter how hard she tried to acclimate to it. The other part was due to her not only being heavier, but from not doing this kind of running much anymore. If she worked out once a week that was a miracle these days. She just found that she did not have much energy and usually slept until an hour before work or went home and relaxed if her shift ended early. Exercise did not seem to elicit the type of response it used to.
As she jogged though, she looked around to see that most of the people in the park were sitting on benches, with only one or two others appearing to be doing any type of physical activity at all. One of them, was of course, Annette, her boss. Cassie saw her power walking around the park, her hefty breasts bouncing up and down in what clearly was not a sports bra. Cassie shook her head.
The giraffe was probably the most physically active person in town (outside of herself of course), and it showed. While she was by no means thin, she was buxom and had very little noticeable fat on her mid-section. She had used to work at the center Cassie did, having quit when she got married. It showed with the added weight on her body. Her breasts and hips were front and center and she caught a few younger furs looking at her whenever she walked around the restaurant to see if everything was ok. Cassie would always just laugh when someone would make an excuse to have her come out to see them, each one more absurd than the other.
Still, as much as it was a welcome sight to be working for someone who didn’t sit on their ass all day eating, she wanted to do no socializing with her outside of the restaurant. When she saw her this morning, Cassie did all she could to make the conversation end quickly, feigning wanting to break her own best record. The giraffe just smiled and told her she liked her shirt, which was her “reward” from finishing the “Not Just a Wallflower” endurance run two years ago. Cassie just thanked her and walked away.
The shirt, which had fit rather loose on her frame (it was supposed to be men’s double xl), still hung loose on her, just not to the extent it previously had. Her softening belly pressed against the stretchy material, and the bottom hem of the shirt would rise up whenever she really got going. This in turn would show off her rear to everyone, as the shorts Sarah had gotten her were only getting tighter as her rear grew plusher and wider. She assumed the looks she got were because of how alien it was to see someone exercising in this town, but in truth it was because those same people had seen her when she first arrive and could not believe she had put on 31 pounds in just under 20 weeks. She was still the thinnest person in town, but it was becoming apparent that that title might not last much longer the way things were going.
Nevertheless, their thoughts were of no consequence to Cassie as she jogged. Her plan was to do three more laps’ tops and then go home and shower and have a protein shake and some lunch. She was starving and knew she needed to refuel after such a hard workout.

Somebody's definitely developing a noticeable pear shape. You'd think she'd have become aware of how much weight she's put on by now, but she strikes me as quite the stubborn one, and would never want to admit to such a thing.
