Yep, this week Jonathan and Dave are taking a look at the guns of the Resistance PS3 trilogy from Insomniac Games - a studio known for their wacky firearm designs (see also: Ratchet & Clank).

Bit late on this, but now that you’ve done Resistance, it would be neat to melt Johnathan’s brain with Ratchet and Clank weapons

Glad you enjoyed the episode, and sorry we weren't able to cover everything. Sometimes we need to make calls on what weapons we think Jonathan will have the most to say on. Especially when covering 3 games in 1, we're spoiled for choice, so some stuff inevitably gets cut from our initial lists. Who knows we might revisit Resistance in the future - we didn't touch Retribution or Burning Skies at all!

My PS3 is long in the tooth, and the laser that reads the discs is not working as good as it once did. It's a common issue with PS3s apparently, the lasers work well with older blu-rays, but struggle to read dual-layer discs, which Resistance 3 is! Had to do some digging into why it wasn't working when every other game I own does, but I think the reason above is why! - Adam

Resistance is one of my absolute favorite PS3 series. I love the analysis of the weird alien guns and the jokes that Johnathan has brought this time around. However I am a little sad that not all of the weapons were shown. I understand that reviewing all of the weapons would be a bit much, but I would like to point out for Dave and the rest of EXP that specifically in Resistance 1 the developers made it so that beating the campaign would unlock new weapons that could be found in the world, for example there is a flamethrower that spits blue flames that can be found after beating the campaign several times. Additionally in Resistance 2 there is a co-op multiplayer game mode that has some weapons that are not in the main campaign, the most notable of which is a sort of leeching laser gun that shoots a healing projectile as it's alt fire.
