She had donned the white terrycloth robe, tied it at the waist, standing now in the kitchen, wondering why each footstep felt like she trod through sloppy muck. It was like medieval torture—drawn and quartered, her four axes chained to powerful horses each aimed in opposing directions. It was possible she really did.

She opened the door as silently as she could and stepped inside. Was very happy to find Hemi in bed with his back turned to the door, head on the pillow, vision aimed out at the view. "I’m kind of awake now, too. You want to settle in with me? See if we can doze off?”
She stared at him dumbly for a moment, blinking, then said, “Okay.”
And then… she sucked her lips into her mouth and wriggled close to his side as he hooked an arm around her and held her close to his body. Now her cheek was on his chest, her hand on his ribs, her other hand squished between them. His hand rested on her hip with the sheet between them.

Hemi seems to be to perfect and it feels he's good at covering his true personality. He's manipulated her into believing Dan what's her to do this, he just wants to be this wedge just so he can break their marriage. It feels like that's sole purpose is to break them down and use her to prove he can and when done he'll just move on to the next victim. Even though this couple has traveled a lot of places to both come off as naive when it comes to seeing people's real character. Them not being able to see this Hemi is going to lead them down a dark path with heartache and lies. Doubtful their marriage will survive this, it's going to leave major scars on both of them.

Normally I'd sort of feel like Hemi has too many perfect traits for a character, but I'm kind of into that. It might be because Elie is such a perfectly complicated character. Making a character like her deal with this really tough scenario that would be tough for anyone, even in good conscience, to pass up is probably what is driving my interest. Loving this story, still being reminded why I prefer the full story updates over chapters, lol.
