Also I had the same question about the beeswax, but someone told me that apparently beeswax was often used in ancient times to waterproof ships, so I guess they would've have extra on board!

So, in the original Odyssey, Circe is the one that tells him the way home, not the sirens. Therefore he has the foresight to prepare beeswax. For Epic, I imagine this is just handwaved as ship supplies they have on hand.

Troy was thought to be near Turkey, whereas Ithaca was in Greece. A normal trip by water would have taken two weeks. They could have gone by land, but imagine if Poseidon sent a stampede of Horses after him haha (since Poseidon is also the god of Horses and Earthquakes).

that and there was only women singing the penelope part at the beginning. Normally it's a male emsemble or Ody singing it. There's also the electric tones in the beginning as well. Jorge said that if it's more electric or synth-like, the more godlike or mythical the creature is, which is what we heard with the other gods and Circe.

And how you’ve expressed wanting to end Act 2 with gigi? Well, why not also start off Act 2 with gigi as well because she is immediately working on an animatic for both Suffering and Different Beast in one video! Just saying for when you finally react to animatics with Mortius :D

I was SO confused at first during the first song 😂 It was so different from what I was expecting, but I think the first two songs did a really good job of opening the new saga and being engaging. I did think it was interesting that Jorge chose to use the modern interpretation of sirens- as you might remember from Percy Jackson, Greek sirens are more like harpies than mermaids. Thanks for being so dedicated and getting these out so fast!

Different Beast: That whole first part, the realisation of going from "What's going on?" to "Damn Odysseus!" was very relatable. Polites would be so heartbroken seeing him like this. "Where'd they get beeswax from?" Candles? Maybe? But I had that same question Loved the explanation of the Siren's voices not sounding smooth. Makes loads of sense!

Was just checking one thing as I remembered it from 20+ years ago when I did classical studies at school. In the book odysseus instructs the crew to tie him to the mast and for them to plug their ears with beeswax as Odysseus wants to hear their song.

Suffering: The reaction after "The things I do for you" had me laughing like crazy. Also you picking up on the "mermaid like whispers" in the literal siren song makes me so happy. Sir, don't hate on Prophet Caspar. True prophet. Let's start a religion, right now. "So that's the ugly ocean bitch!" - nice quote You hear the piano of Athena because Odysseus is being a Warrior of the Mind. The choir theory makes sense with what you know but it's not a godly choir but the other sirens. Also "He will chase you high and low, so find a place he'd never go. The one way you'll get home is sailing where he's scared to go. The lair of Scylla." is the same melody as "He will burn your house and home and find you wherever you go. The gods will make him know. This is the will of the gods." in The Horse and Infant. I hadn't made the connection to Polyphemus but damn that's true.

He could of walked or ridden a good majority but Ithaca is a smallish (not too small but not big) island so they would of been a sea fairing nation probably and therefore would have ships but probably not enough livestock to travel the numbers and distance between Ithaca and troy.

The first thing I noticed is how there's no viola; like, ayo that's not Penelope, and the fact it's almost acapella really gives you the hint that something's off. And I love that it feels odd but it's honestly such a bop lol What a genius way to make a song about sirens trying to drown you
