SU 1.9.5
🕑 Added 2016-08-24 15:36:06 +0000 UTC I'm going to preface this by saying, this month has been one of the worst since 1.4 (Nov of last year) development wise. I'm personally not one for excuses (I fucking hate them), so this will be a tad difficult to write. So this month's update will be a 1.9.5, we won't go through a testing phase and be releasing a raw build to you guys on the 31st.For those that care to hear my attempt at not making excuses, so an explanation.
Basically, this won't be near the update we expected to deliver, actually, it will probably be one of the weakest since 1.4's roll back (which removed content). This comes on the tail of the best month we have had since December. Now this update will have stuff but really not the same amount we have delivered for the past few months (the GUI has been completely redone, all of it, and a bunch of housekeeping). Now that is out of the way I will let you know of some of the changes that caused this plus some unfortunate luck.
Changes
We are moving to a different versioning system and have been planning to for a month or so. Updates will now be X.X.X with 2.0 being the first to show this, but we will have to unveil this by doing a 1.9.5 update this month, next month will be 2.0.0. What this means is 2.0.1 - will be a smaller type update, similar to what you have come to expect. In the background, SR7 is working on major updates and we want to release them every 3ish months that will have large content additions. This was supposed to be Batgirl as an example this month, the content we were trying to finish would have been in the realm of the Lois arc size and have the Batgirl bordello section complete. This will now be next month. These large updates will have a 2.1.X versioning, so we can give you an idea of the level of content expected, month to month.
Bad Luck
Doing monthly updates we need to go through a full development each and every month. There is design/alpha/beta/testing every month to get you these updates. If we get one hiccup we can survive as we have set our releases up to handle this, but when you have some major lost time in the month it hurts. This month SR7 had a cold at the start of the month which just didn't go away, as he was getting better is went to his sinuses and he came down with an infection. He is on antibiotics, but still pretty sick (he is getting better day by day) this literally consumed upwards of two weeks of time. He did work during this, but we are talking a few hours here and there every day. This is just bad luck.
Lastly, the web show this week will be canceled, as I don't want to come down with the plague that SR7 has, we don't need more lost time. I'm actually happy that this is the first web show we have canceled to date. In conclusion, we hate doing this (that's why we never have these excuse posts) and I hope all of you understand.
tl:dr - We are doing changes to the versioning labels, SR7 came down with a sinus infection and has been sick for 2 weeks this month. He is on antibiotics and is getting better.

His art is awesome. I hope he gets well soon :-)

SR7 has been crazy sick this month and unable to draw really. We tend to put that off in order to fullfil promises on Patreon also. It still will be finished but is slow right now -SmokeShank

I'm glad he's feeling better!

Sucks he got sick and that this'll be a light update. Honestly I haven't played the last few updates anyways to let a bunch of content build again before I play another version. Really looking forward to getting to play with the heroines so I'm glad a full run with Batgirl should be in the next build! I've been here since the start but I've been thinking of dropping for a bit since we haven't had any play time with the heroines lately but I guess I gotta stay now seeing how BG is my favorite and all.

Eh take care SR, can't produce future content if you're too sick to breathe. Also sinus infections are absolute gobshite.

SR7 will be fine, its just a really bad cold, that gives you crazy headaches right behind the eyes. Our version system was like an internal joke as it means absolutely nothing. We want to change that so we will start at 2.0.0.-SmokeShank

We will still update every month, but we are trying to make every three months something big and complete. Instead of little pieces all the time -SmokeShank

Hey, interface cleanup is the #1 thing I've been waiting for! You guys are doing fine and it's good to see progress. Hope Sunset feels better, antibiotics always suck!

Giving to us raw, eh? well that is how I like my porn. Jokes aside, I am also in the boat of the 'prefer you to be healthy over on time updates' , so no need to apologize.
Angry Gorilla
Why not go with 1.10 as the next version? No need to push for 2.0 if there are no radical changes. Oh, and I hope you get better. Health comes first, always.
industriousrevolution
Completely understandable - hope that SR7 gets better, and I'm looking forward to next month's 2.0. You've been making very steady progress on the builds so far, so there's been plenty of goodwill built up. It doesn't hurt that your quality is top-notch as well. Regarding what else you're saying, we're now going to be getting major updates every 3 months instead of monthly? I presume that the other 2 months will be minor updates to SU as well - are you able to tell us about how much additional content those will have? Thank you once again for keeping us informed - you're by far the best creator when it comes to community engagement.
Danlorn
Hey take care of yourself SR7! Guys no need to die doing all this stuff, we need you both alive and healthy! Crossed all my fingers for SR7's recovery (T__T)

I wouldn't sweat it too much, the fact that you're both actually pissed about it speaks volumes about your characters as individuals. That, coupled with the fact that you guys actually involve your community of supporters in your dev process and let us know what's going on, AND the fact that you've been consistently giving us awesome stuff on a more or less set schedule gives you guys a lot of good faith leeway in my opinion, especially if you keep people in the loop.
