LOG:05 - Page 35
Although I might push this scene ahead of the page with Cenk and Wilm when they go to the public site.Speaking of, my hiatus ends this week with a new page going up on the site this Wednesday. I managed to get 5 pages done, not as many as I'd hoped, but still putting me in a better place than I was when I went on the hiatus.

What could go wrong, indeed?
LOG:05 - Page 33
A callback to a much earlier page in the comic.
LOG:05 - Page 32
Hoping to have a nice buffer of pages when the comic returns from hiatus. I've got about six more pages already thumbnailed out, so expect the pages to keep coming now that I can see again. So anyway, now that books 2 and 3 are out I bet some of you are wondering if that means book 4 is on the way? Not quite. Ideally, I'd like to have the current story arc finished before I go back and make page revisions. It's when the story is done t...
ComiXology Edition Update!
Books 2 and 3 will also be available in high-res digital ebook editions from ComiXology on Wednesday, August 14th. The ebook editions feature ComiXology's "Guided View" format which is a fantastic way to read the comic on a tablet or smartphone.
Books 2 and 3 Now Available!
Hey everyone! Ringtail is still updating their site so the books aren't visible by going to the Sprawl section of the store, but you can purchase them now by heading directly to the sales listings. I'll link them below!Book 2:https://ringtailcafe.com/product/the-sprawl-vol-2/Book 3:https://ringtailcafe.com/product/the-sprawl-vol-3/And on the off chance you were waiting until all three books had been released, you can still order book 1 at...
Mea Culpa! Pages 29, 30 and new page 31!
I only just realized I'd never uploaded the high res versions of pages 29 and 30 for you guys! Sorry about that!To try and make it up a bit here's the brand new page, 31! I won't be posting this to the site for a month or two due to the hiatus.Fun fact, page 31 is the first page I've done wearing glasses. Still getting used to them. It's strange being able to see just fine for about 40 years then suddenly needed glasses, but I...
Back in business!
Due to an unending stream of curve balls life is tossing my way I've yet to get out to the eye doctor to pick up my prescription glasses, but I did manage to get to the pharmacy to buy a pair of reading glasses and they seem to do the trick. For the first time in a few weeks I was able to sit down and draw. To shake off the dust I decided to tackle a new Sprawl page first, since I already have a bunch thumbed out. Believe me, you guys are goi...
I Finally Have My Copies of LOG:02 and 03!
I'm still waiting on a date from the publisher, starting to think I won't hear anything until the web store update is complete and the books are available. In the meantime, however, I did finally get my copies of 02 and 03 and they are gorgeous! They outclass the first book in every way. I'm really looking forward to you guys being able to get your own copies and let me know what you think!Since I'm posting anyway, a small update....
Yet another sorta-update on the books!
The publisher got back to me and told me they should be able to give me a date for the online release within the next few days. So look forward to that!In the meantime, I've got the next 6 pages of The Sprawl thumbnailed out. We're coming up on some important events so I may continue thumbnailing the pages out so I can work out those scenes all at once. I plan to take August and maybe September off as a hiatus from page updates on the mai...
Yet More News!
It looks like the books haven't gone up on the ringtail website yet, I'm guessing this is because their supplies might have run low. Apparently the books sold very well at AC. I'll keep everyone updated once I hear more.In the meantime, there is a bit of news on the ebook editions. I received the notification today that books 2 and 3 have been accepted for distribution on ComiXology. If it's like last time, this means it will only...

Update - Books 2 and 3!
Hey everyone, so there's some great news regarding the next two Sprawl books. I recently got word from the publisher that they've arrived from the printer. They still haven't given me an update on when the books will be available through their online store but I imagine it will be soon.I do know that Ringtail will have the books with them at Anthrocon next month, so if you're going to be at the convention you'll be able to pic...

Just an Update
Status of books 2 and 3? Still no news. Sorry. The publisher did tell me they should have news for me within 2 weeks, and that was on Monday.Book 2 has already been submitted to ComiXology. If I'm remembering right, it only took 2 months for them to process book 1. I'm planning to submit book 3 this weekend, so there won't be too long of a delay between them. Speaking of, while I don't think there's anything better than having...
LOG:05 pages 27 and 28
Yeah, I misnumbered the pages for the last post because of the two-page spread before that. These are pages 27 and 28.Fun fact, with both these pages I ran into that "Oh, this page is not turning out good at all" feeling while doing the line-art, but now that they're all coloured and done, I'm really happy with them. Especially Cenk on page 28. I think that's my best rendition of him yet.I'm really trying to work in more c...
Books Update
I know everyone is eager to know when books 2 and 3 will be released. Believe me, I am like a kid waiting for Christmas, only to learn on Christmas morning that Christmas has been delayed.Apparently there was an issue with the files. I'm not sure of the details but it should be resolved now and the publisher should have the books within 2-4 weeks. I'll keep you guys posted.
LOG:05 - Pages 23, 24 and 25
The Science Division examines a sample from the discovery chamber.Still waiting for the publisher to receive the books from the printer. They say it usually takes 3-4 weeks and this was week 3, so we probably won't have to wait more than a week to know when the books will be available. In the meantime, enjoy these three pages and make of them what you will.
LOG:05 pages 21 through 23!
Pages 22 and 23 are a two page spread. I'll be taking a break from new pages for a week or two to focus on commissions and other work. Once I get all outstanding work completed we'll see if I still have a sizeable page buffer and maybe I'll be able to go back to weekly site updates. In the meantime, enjoy this cliffhanger.

Into the depths.
Behind the Scenes - Vice President Scrimm
For the NASTRAND corporation's Vice President, I leaned heavily on a couple visual inspirations. One of those inspirations would be Breetai and Exedor from the 1984 Macross movie, where they looked more alien than their TV show counterparts.Macross is probably the first series I was a big fan of, and the visual style stuck with me and seeps into a lot of my work.Another inspiration for Scrimm is The Great Owl from The Secret of NIMH.I really w...
LOG:05 - Page 19
My stomach has been killing me all day but I think I'm still riding the high of the first book being printed because I was still able to finish this page today. If I can keep up this pace for a month or so I'll be able to get back to weekly page updates on the site. And since books 2 and 3 are already off to the publisher, I'm finding it easier to channel some of that energy into other projects, so I'll be trying to knock out some ...
Join our mailing list!
Alright, so The Sprawl now has a mailing list and you can click here to join. Why join? In addition to the kind of news I share with you guys here, I'm going to use the NewsLOGs to share up to date information on book releases, any conventions Ringtail Cafe or myself will be appearing at (where you'll be able to get nifty Sprawl swag in addition to the books), and hopefully an upcoming Kickstarter campaign to fund the completion to the cur...
LOG:05 - Page 18
I managed to knock this one out in a day on Sunday but forgot to post it. I'm trying to work on a bunch of commission work this week so there likely won't be another page until the weekend. But if I can knock out two more pages next weekend that will push me a bit closer to maybe being able to resume weekly page updates instead of bi-weekly. No promises, we'll have to see how the month pans out.
LOG:05 - Page 17
Feels good to work on the current chapter again after 2 months of revisions. Still, it's paid off because right now, as I make this post, the publisher is getting the files and will be placing the order with the printer for books 2 and 3. I'm not sure how long it takes for them to receive the books but the moment I know I'll be making a post about it here, there and everywhere. I am insanely excited. In the meantime, enjoy this Sprawl ...
The Sprawl Trilogy covers
Well, we all know it's not just a trilogy, but for the next year or so it will be in book form. And here, together, the covers for all 3 books. Book 3 will also have that R18 logo on it. Kinda want to put it in book 2, too, for consistency, but there's not really anything in that chapter to warrant it.I'm really happy with this cover set, but what do you guys think?
Book 3 cover WIP
A sneak peek for you patrons. Yeah, I wound up dropping the idea of doing a reverse of the LOG:02 cover once I started sketching and the initial version of this popped into existence. Initially I thought I'd draw part of a table or bench she'd be sitting on, or even just having her float there on the cover. But then I thought, "Nah, let's have her sitting on some sort of machine, one with lots of tubes coming out of it like a toka...
LOG:03 UPDATED!
That's right. Revisions are done and the results are already posted to www.TheSprawlComic.comEnjoy!
Coming towards the home stretch!
I'm almost done with LOG:03 page revisions. The updated version of the comic could go up as early as this weekend.
10 pages knocked out in a night!
And still going. Hoping I can knock out another page or two before dragging myself to bed.If I can keep this pace I should have revisions done by early next week, and the cover done by the end of next week. Once I update the site I want to start pushing the comic towards reviewers to see if I can get more eyes on it that way.
