painting study #2
streamed this one a bit on my twitch channel, twitch.tv/francescamagalithis one was a bit more of a challenging light set up but we got through it. timelapse attached.
painting study
I am on my painting training arc. I always wanted to be better at it but I've shied away from it out of fear of a bad outcome. I've watch Devin Korwin's Light and material lecture and it helped me a lot to understand more how light works. I want to create more meaningful and impactful work, whether it be more useful concept art, or to make all the half-life fan art paintings I have sitting in my head. I'm pretty proud of this cons...
Hydrophobia - Patron Request
Another comm from the Digital Love tier featuring Kate Wilson from Hydrophobia. I really tried to make the refracting water convincing.
Caitlyn
quick Cait drawing. I have not seen the last ep yet so please don't spoil!!!this started as some disjointed unrelated sketches then I pushed somethings around.
hl2 scribblings
haven't had much time to do proper fan art but I was just itching to do something. one day ill do a nice illustration. this comic panel style kinda organically came out, I wanted to focus on composition as well as stronger black value shapes. got me thinking about my next animatic based on certain scenes in hl2 chapters.

Instagram Commissions
Some commissions i took via instagram. 1. my friend Casey with her cello2. Commissioner's OC, Sire3. Ben from Night of the Living Dead.i thought i could get myself to make something simple for $30 bc i dont want to be inaccessible to people wanting art, but i think im doing a bit more than $30 worth of art here, and thats my own fault. its hard for me to do something small and keep it that way. ideas start small in my head and grow once i hit...
chains
was digging through some old sketches to revisit. this wasn't an old sketch per se but it was spun off while redrawing some old stuff. lately i feel like just taking any idea i have and seeing it through, not trying to think about it too much and get some volume going while still maintaining a quality i like.
VANCE SUBPRIME pg 5 pencils
Revisiting pages and fixing them, whether it be completely redrawing/reworking the layout or just a panel or two. Some of the earlier pages need some overhauling but I can't get too carried away.

WIP - (Exchange) - HLA short animatic
Been roughing out a 1min HLA animatic/limited animation short. I've always wanted to shorts to music I love as I find a lot of inspiration from music and try to insert it into my work. I'm starting out slow with something short and to a slow song, (Exchange) from Massive Attack. I have to give thanks to my friend RudeJack for pushing me to do something like this.I got some very rough drawings and a sequence of how I remember the ending of...
Jade and Pey'j illo WIP
Forgot to post the most recent pencils I did for this! Pretty happy with how the drawing looks. I usually do a new drawing from scratch when I have a rough drawing like the second pic but I decide to just draw over it. I figured I was going to loose the energy and shapes from the rough if I didn't.
dr. x warm-ups/sketch (nsfw)
still figuring out the lore of dr. x
dr. xing experiment gif (nsfw)
using my animation degree for degeneracy. Here's a link to it bc patreon doesnt like my gifs for some reason and keeps breaking themDr. Xing tentacle gifEDITED: cropped for better framing and native resso i think im done with this gif. it was an experiment (and for Dr. Xing herself..) After spending several hours on the rough, getting some headway on the tie down animation, Procreate Dreams, specifically, just wiped all my clean up. thankfully...

Hello all, to start off, I'm changing the naming convention of the newsletters, so at the begining of each month, i will call each newsletter by the new month, but still addressing what had went on in the previous month.Happy Spooky month, the biggest thing last month has to be that I tabled at Erie Comic Con! i kinda went over already in a previous post but it went well all things considered, i got to meet some new fans and some who had recog...
WIP Dr. Xing tentacle animation (NSFW)
wip of Dr. Xing just doing some science of course. working on the clean up and giving Procreate Dreams a second shot. this kinda helped me get the wiggles out and brush the animation rust off so i have more confidence doing a short Half-life alyx animatic (its sfw :) )if animation peeps wanna give some feedback, i am open!
Dr. Essie Xing
some dr. xing self pleasure and a small edit to the alyx request, added a little more bg info. I've been trying to practice drawing really, really, slowly, and from memory more in order to erase less and make more intentional lines. i waste so much time just aimlessly sketching and im not thinking about each line. its as if im in a hurry to get an idea out of my head but just end up making a mess and have to redo it, erase any way.tried to wo...
