My first attempt at the first two panels are as you see here, but I went on to draw two or three more versions with different approaches, including combining the two into a single extreme closeup of Jacob's face. But in the end, I decided my first approach was just fine. Just noodling...

I had a good time painting those bedsheets. The 4th panel was originally seated higher in-between 3 and 5, but I was concerned the reader's eye would catch on it on the way to panel 3, so I lowered it to allow the eye a chance to run over to Jacob first.
