A Year in Review: Looking into 2025
I'm a bit later with this post than intended - 2025 is already looking to be quite busy! Here's a belated Happy New Year!2024 was a year defined by The Gulf releasing. With all of the travelling, it's easy to feel that I didn't work on all that much but I have to remind myself I drew over a hundred pages of comics not including Blind Alley. This is a weird job!Let's follow the format I laid out last year. I'll be reporting...
A Question about Blind Alley Sunday Strips...
Hey folks,I've been going full steam ahead with the weekly posts of Blind Alley so the results of this poll are pretty clear, but I just wanted to draw attention to it! Thanks to everyone who voted.Genuine apologies to the folks who wanted more Sunday strips - I do too! I have a lot cooking up on the side as justification for their absence at least. So, we're only 9 strips away from the end of Blind Alley Year 3! By my math, March 21st wil...
Brambles No. 52
An extra strip cause i feel bad for missing monday's Blind Alley.
Brambles No. 51
What - Brambles??What about Blind Alley?! Apologies. The past few weeks have been dominated by holiday functions and then a big move. I thought I'd given myself enough of a buffer of strips but underestimated the amount of time unpacking would take up. As of today, I am all settled and have a functional studio. More Blind Alley come Friday. In the meantime,I happen to have a full chapter of Bramblessitting in a folder. Here's a taster.
Whups...
Today's Blind Alley maybe tomorrow's Blind Alley. My studio isn't quite together yet after a move - I'm hoping to get it done by the end of the day today though. :o)All the best,Adam
My Favourite Things of 2024: Books
Throughout 2024, if I wasn't drawing, chances are you would find me on the couch tucked under a book. This winter has found me with a diminished, but for the rest of the year I couldn't get enough. While Vancouver has a number of great bookshops, stores in London tend to curate their displays and stock to the tastes of whoever is doing the ordering. I found a few shops who seemed to forefront the type of book I was looking for and it beca...
My Favourite Things of 2024: Films, TV, & Games.
Favourite First Watches:Notes on Films:Moving by Shinji Somai stands out as a clear frontrunner for my favourite film I've watched this year. Such compelling, simple, and unostentatious filmmaking. Emotionally devastating.Watching Paranoia Agentwas a longtime coming. In an era where adults spend their days harassing people online over Star Wars or every waking moment steeped in fandom, this series is all the more unsettling. Kon is an incredib...
A Year in Review: My Year.
Despite the fact that this year included several years worth of events, it's of course still shocking to be staring down the barrel of another year. Time gathers momentum as I age and I doubt I'll ever get used to it.So, here we are again - the time of year where this sappy cartoonist reflects on his year. It's been a surreal year that's included so many bewildering career-firsts. At the end of it all, I stand exhausted but extreme...
