News Heads 4
That's Robert Kennedy Jr. below right. He's crazy and really weird looking too.
John Heads 5
Actually there are some news heads mixed in with these made up heads. That's Fareed Zakaria hunched over below left. There's Fareed again upper right and some woman from a news show lower right. The woman on the upper right below is also from a news show.
Ren and Stimpy Marker and Prismacolor Renderings
Here are some of the latest pictures I've drawn for my store.By the way these are all available here. And there is a Valentine's Day Sale happening from now till midnight February 14.
Girl Heads Colored With Gradients
These aren't finished yet. Before I do the final painting I fill all the color areas with subtle gradients just to create a rich base. I get a lot of customers at the store asking me to draw furries. I'm not really a furry sort but I try to please. Here's one of the girls I just started painting on layer on top of the gradients.
Tiny Critters 5
Here's what it looks like naked.and here it is in color.I'm in the process of coloring the one above and will post it when it's done.
John Heads 4
Here are some old ones. Fighter heads below.
News Heads 4
There's a new news channel that has some of the weirdest looking anchors and guests as in the page below.
Tiny Critters 4
Here's a handful of some wacky critters. These ones are inspired by early Hanna Barbera Ed Benedict designs.I used to be obsessed with prosimians because they are so funny looking. Here's a Slow Loris, one of our distant cousins.
John Heads 3
I'll start off with a page of amoeba heads.Joe Biden sneaked in there at the bottom right.I finally got a decent caricature of Matt Gaetz on the upper right below. He looks like a demon to me with those evil eyes.
Freaks - Human Animal Hybrids
Here are some paintings I've done of half-human, half animal characters. These are partly inspired by Carl Barks' human-animal characters from his Donald Duck comics. Many of his incidental characters had traits of both humans and animals. The Beagle Boys are a prime example. They hace dog-noses, human ears and caucasian flesh color. As a kid reading his comics I always found these characters somewhat unsettling, like they were victims of r...
John Heads 2
Here are some more drawings guided more by my hand than my brain.Whoops! Scanning mistake.
Knutty Knockoffs 2 - Kubism
I love drawing f**ked-up versions of classic characters. I've been doing weird Flintstone drawings since I was a kid.HB characters are the easiest me me to bugger up. Maybe because they are already pretty stylized.Looney Tunes characters are more of a challenge.I even like doing my own characters off-model. Actually they are kind of off-model all the time so I have to push them into abstraction. Here's a very Kubist version of Marge Simps...
Ren and Stimpy Doodles
That's supposed to be Audrey Hepburn with Ren and Stimpy. Here are some variations on Stimpy's design. Here's an abstract couple of doodles of them. Some Space Madness doodles. Here's a balloon head Stimpy and Tweety and the Jimmy Durante cat from Bob Clampett's 'Gruesome Twosome' cartoon.Stimpy's design was inspired by this cartoon.
John Heads 1
These are doodles I do of humans in my sort of "ugly style". Mostly these are drawn mindlessly, just letting my marker go where it wants to at random. Some are loosely inspired by caricatures I have done of people.A couple of these below are based on caricatures. The top left woman is inspired by Kate Baldwin from CNN news. The one on bottom left is inspired by Matt Gaetz but doesn't really look like him.the guy on bottom right is Elo...
News Heads 3
I drew all these with a crappy Paper Mate Flair pen because the felt tip pens I like have been discontinued. I don't get why the Flair pens are so popular. The lines are way too thin and they barely have any ink in them. The top 2 are princes William and Harry in all their inbred glory. Here's Harris, Vance and a lady I don't remember.A couple of commentators.
Tiny Critters 3
Whereto find some.
Jimmy's Girlfriends 2
Here are some more of his schoolmates and some updated renderings of some from an earlier post.
News Heads 2
Obama and Bill Nye. I'm not sure who the woman is.Here's a handful of dictators.Christiane Amnapour and Netanyahu.A commentator writer, Jon Meacham, Doris Kearns Goodwin and Al Sharpton.A lady commentator, Jonathan Lemire, bottom left I forget his name, bottom right Nicky Haley.Stormy Daniels, porn star.President Biden.
Tiny Critters
Here are a bunch of color doodles of very small funny animals. These are also available for you to own here.
Goofy Girls
I have trouble drawing girls goofy looking. My natural impulse is to draw them cute, but here are some attempts.I colored some along with cuter girl faces.BTW, a bunch of my marker and prismacolor drawings are available here. They make good Christmas presents I think maybe.
News Heads
I watch the various news channels while I eat breakfast each day and I draw the reports, commentators and politicians that have interesting or funny heads. Here's Mitch McConnell. Here's a crazy man.Fox's Harris Faulkner lower left. One of the anchors on MSNBC's morning show lower right and a commentator at the top.Chris Wallace. At bottom, 2 drawings of Israel's Netanyahu.Cnn's Dana Bash lower left and a commentator or senat...
Sexy Girls
Here are some cute girl doodles (some R rated). Here are some of Sody Pop:I colored one of the pages with prismacolor pencils.A customer commissioned me to do a couple of furry drawings. I'm not really into furries so I had to look up some reference. The best ones I found online were usually by Japanese artists. This is what I came up with.
Intermission
Hi everyone, So sorry for the sudden silence. My health issue became a little more severe, so I'm now recovering. Since I won't be able to use Patreon for the next few weeks, billing has been paused. I'll keep all of you updated with my progress along the way. I've made a big store sale that gives you 25% off your purchase over $200 that will hopefully make up for any shipping delays in the meantime. Thanks again everyone! John K.
He Hog 4 - Other Characters
Sorry if I've been a bit slower lately. I'm dealing with a health problem. Nothing too serious though.
He Hog Pitch 2
I grew up in the 60s and read tons of silver age comic books and always wanted to make fun of the nutty superhero conventions, like 'secret identities' and 'origin stories'.
He Hog the Atomic Pig Pitch
We developed this concept in the late 80s and it's one of the show ideas I pitched to Nickelodeon on the same day I pitch many others - including Ren and Stimpy. It was inspired by the Bakshi Mighty Mouse show we did and I thought why not do another animal superhero? Ken Boyer suggested we make it a pig.We updated the pitch in 2004.This top image was drawn by Ken Boyer, a very talented cartoonist I worked with on MM.
Brik Blastoff 12 - Superheroes Convention
Well that's the last of the stories from the Brik Blastoff TV Pitch bible. I also wrote a treatment for a Brik Blastoff feature which I may post later if anyone's interested, but it doesn't have any accompanying illustrations.
Brik Blastoff 9 - Derek Story
In the early 1980s I had a layout team that worked in a makeshift studio in an apartment building. One of my friends and artists had a squarish head and we always made jokes about him being an alien from another planet. His name was Derek and I made him a character for the Brik Blastoff show pitch.here's his actual head. And mine:
