I tried out a new way of sketching. Instead of drawing on top with new layers I just used my usual painting brush and did everything on the same one. It's really comfy so I think I'll stick to this. I did take a wrong decision tho, I should have used some color instead of black, that way I could have dropped some colors then mix it all together and keep sculpting from there— black doesn't mix that well lol.I'm going to paint thi...

Comparing this stage to the initial sketch is fun. Color makes it easier to visualize the size and volume of things in space so this is the part where I make most of the adjustments — from here on there's usually not much difference from the final thing.The biggest changes were the size and place of the tail and cake, so it seems my anatomy is pretty spot on 👍.

I took a break yesterday — gasp. I had an insomnia night, a sore shoulder from lifting and a stiff back from too long hours sitting and drawing.
