HIGH SCHOOL REUNION 5 (ROUGH)
started experimenting with composition here. i was originally planning on doing something lazy with the third panel. but this "over the shoulder" type of shot looks cool and i was able to squeeze in a sight gag on the trophy bc its large enough in the frame to read itim happy with the direction that my comic is going. i said that in 2024 i wanted my comics to "mature" and go to new places. im not 100% sure about what other cartoon...

i got to reuse the background from earlier. still took a bunch of time to figure out how to make it look like sunset with my limited color palette that i insist on using. i like using 2 colors to evoke the feel of old print comics that only had a few colorsanyways i thought the other panels looked naked without backgrounds so u drew up some quick BGs for them. im also trying to vary my composition a little more instead of having nothing but heads...

im still excited about this whole arc. i think its coming together nicely. i feel inspired, so everything is just falling into place. i tend to feel this way when im at the beginning of a big project. im gonna try to keep this spirit up. if not, go watch romy and michelle's high school reunion and pretend that mira sorvino and lisa kudrow are TY and suski (respectively, or not, whatever suits you)

the exciting conclusion to the snow fort saga. i was considering doing "new kids on the block action figure but its donnie wahlberg" for the cereal prize, but ultimately jamiroquai is funnier, even if its at risk of being played out. i have no regrets about this gag. now i need to think about where to take the comic from here after wrapping up an arc

WOOF it's been a long week of doing commissions. i haven't had much time to do comics and i feel bad about it. it does feel good to wrap up this arc. funnily enough there's still some occasional snow and hail in my area, so its not entirely inaccurate to be posting these comics in late marchim gonna try to regain my footing with some one-off strips and hold off on the arc for at least a couple weeks. im thinking of doing a high school...

i always like it when i get to reuse a panel from a previous comic. luckily this time i didnt have to spend a bunch of time experimenting with coloring the sunrise. i already had it figured out from my previous efforts. i think everything looks good, and im confident that the action is clear and everything conveys as it should. i am second-guessing myself on the proportions of TY in the last panel though. foreshortening is hard. i might give it a...

the power of FIRE and ICEedit: redrew the last panel. the foreshortening didnt look quite right. i sucked it up and took a photo of myself to use as reference. ref saves time and looks better 99% of the time. also i forgot to color in the car last night. it was late and i was tired lol

a good record can change ur life. in these tough times, i need to just draw something that brings me joy. also using this opportunity to test out a new color palette. i think i will just continually change the 2 color palette whenever i feel like it, just to keep things interesting. u never know whats gonna happen next with TY

i like the new color palette for 2024, but its difficult to color a sunset with this palette bc the blue is lighter than the orange. i tried a bunch of different solutions and ended up with the final version i uploaded here. i use a 2 color palette bc i mistakenly believe that it makes coloring easier, but thats not always the case and sometimes it requires some creative thinkingoriginally i wanted TY to be playing with one of those McFlurry make...
