Even with the buffs provided by the Field and Kalki’s distant music, Basil could hardly dodge half of their attacks. He waved his...

Apocalypse Tamer 88: Man vs Santa
Previous Chapter---------------20/12/2022: for info, next chapter will be the last of the year before my Christmas/New Year break. Enjoy.----------------Level 60.Basil’s hands tightened on his halberd’s shaft. He had expected some challenge from the Christmas event, but nothing like this. The boss was the same level as Apollyon; the creature who had single-handedly laid waste to Paris and survived a nuke to the face.Krampus didn’t appear as...
Apocalypse Tamer 87: Man vs Christmas
Previous Chapter---------------By the time Basil finished his tale, his coffee cup had gone cold. Vasi held her hot chocolate in her hand, a worried frown all over her beautiful face. As for Kalki, he had stopped sipping his tea halfway through the conversation and listened patiently since.“That’s worrying,” he said, finally breaking the silence.“That’s an understatement,” Vasi replied as he put her half-empty cup on the table. The va...
Apocalypse Tamer 86: Man vs Devil
Previous Chapter------------Basil felt gloomy all day long.He couldn’t quite explain it himself. Nightfall and the Christmas event were still hours away. Minions had reinforced the dungeon with traps and anyone getting in was in for a rude surprise. All in all, his team had found a sanctuary for the night.Yet Basil felt like he was being watched. The impression started innocuously at first, only to grow stronger after his conversation with Kalki...
Apocalypse Tamer Christmas Poll
Hi guys, quick update, I'm still waiting for the new Bestiary entry arts, but I've received Tapas' authorization to publish Vainqueur's last webtoon episode on Patreon when it's finished (the whole thing, not just the preview); it'll be up roughly at the same as it's unveiled on Tapas, so around in a week's time. Meanwhile, much like the Halloween event, here's a flash poll to determine the rewards for the Chri...
Apocalypse Tamer 85: Man vs Vampire
Previous Chapter------------After reducing the upper part of the castle to rubble, Bugsy used his new burrowing ability to dig a path into the crypts below. As expected, the Neurotower was probably located at the dungeon’s bottom; the party couldn’t find the server anywhere above ground. Leaving a third of his team above ground to chase off stragglers, Basil ventured into the crypts with Shellgirl, Bugsy, Vasi, Kalki, and Plato. He distributed...
Apocalypse Tamer 84: Man vs BFG
Previous Chapter-------They reached the frontier of Romania by nightfall. The trip had been relatively calm: they tried to stop at an inn that turned out to be a giant mimic, engaged in a gunfight with a group of Mad Max punk raiders, and briefly crossed paths with a friendly undead gunslinger. By post-apocalyptic standards, it was a day like any other.“My standards for normalcy have truly lowered,” Basil mused as he examined bullets near the ...
Apocalypse Tamer 83: Man vs Map
Previous Chapter-----------In the dark depths of a Hungarian forest, a hundred people waited for death.Ilona was among them. A twelve year old, she had been dragged out of her bed by raven-headed monsters in the night, beaten into submission, and then dragged into the woods. Her daddy and mommy occupied an iron cage halfway across a snow-covered clearing alongside a dozen other adults. Ilona shared her own with twice as many children. She recogni...

Break next week and Bugsy Metamorphosis Poll
Hi guys,As put in the chapters, I've now completed the second volume of Apocalypse Tamer; I'll thus take a short week break to outline the third; this is especially critical since it should be the final entry in the saga and the longest of them. As such, chapter updates will resume on November 15th.I'll also be working on compiling and editing Volume II so you may download the manuscript next week, and try to complete the commissioned...

Apocalypse Tamer 81: Man vs Respec
Previous Chapter-----------------They spent the week helping the army secure Paris. It was a long, tedious process. Apollyon’s death had spelled the Apocalypse Force’s defeat on this front, but not all of his thralls were willing to accept it. For every bug that retreated back into the rift, two more attempted to break through the security perimeter. A few slipped through in the early hours of the Incursion, but each new day brought its lot of...
Apocalypse Tamer 80: Man vs Apollyon

The air itself was charged with energy. Basil felt an invisible force enter his lungs...

Apocalypse Tamer 79: Man vs Nuke
Previous Chapter----------------The city crumbled behind them.Basil and Plato jumped from one Parisian building’s roof to the next in an epic show of parkour. Century-old houses collapsed in their wake. Walls of stones were crushed under a steel titan’s feet and rusted cars flattened on the pavement.“He’s gaining ground on us!” Plato warned as the frantic race went on. Indeed, the rumbling noise of Apollyon’s footsteps grew ever close...
Apocalypse Tamer 78: Man vs Starfall
Previous Chapter--------------Minutes before the Incursion began, Basil and Plato observed the battlefield one last time.Paris’ 7th Arrondissement, where the Eiffel Tower was located, was once one of the city’s core administrative districts. Though the monster occupation of the city had damaged them and filled the streets with sand, most buildings were still standing. Basil had an easier time jumping from one roof to the next than walking aro...
Apocalypse Tamer 77: Man vs Horseman
Previous Chapter-------------------Basil welcomed Maxwell with fire and brimstone.“Elemental Orb: Fire!” He snarled as he snapped his fingers, unleashing a sphere of shining flames at Dismaker Labs’ CEO. The projectile surged across the room in a flash, harmlessly phased through Maxwell, and hit a distant wall in a violent burst.“Let me try!” Rosemarine said before pouncing on Maxwell with her root hand. She slammed the ground beneath t...

Apocalypse Tamer 76: Man vs Wisdom
Previous Chapter----------------------------“Are you sure of yourself, handsome?”Basil glanced at Vasi as they walked down the stairs to the UNESCO building. He and his girlfriend closed the party’s march, while the rest of the team kept an eye on their prisoner.Benjamin Leroy hadn’t made any effort to free himself from captivity. He walked alongside the team in utter silence, his gaze hollow and his back bent like an old tree. No monster...
Apocalypse Tamer 75: Man vs Reality
Previous Chapter---------------------------The light of Plato’s sword repelled Leroy.“Argh!” The living shadow cowered from the blade’s divine radiance as if he were physically hurt by it. “Stay away!”Leroy materialized a shadowy sphere in the palm of his hand and threw it at Plato. The feline saw the attack coming, but instead of dodging, he simply sliced the projectile in midair. His sword dissipated the darkness like the sun repell...
Apocalypse Tamer 74: Woman vs Sword
Previous Chapter-----------------The undead Great Sphinx of Tanit collapsed, the hole in its chest bleeding ice spikes all over the marble floor.Vasi allowed herself a breath of relief. The remains of a mummy warlock burned against a dark stone wall close to her, the smell of roasted flesh and smoke rushing to her nose. “I think it’s over,” she said. “Good shot, Shellgirl.”“That was a close one,” Shellgirl admitted as she emerged fr...

Apocalypse Tamer 73: Man vs Memory
Previous Chapter-------------The trip was as uncomfortable as the landscape was beautiful. The false René took the wheel the way the real one hadn’t in years. The Renault Kangoo drove through a green landscape worthy of an Italian countryside postcard. The area felt incredibly familiar to Basil for a reason he couldn’t put his finger on, but also unnatural on a closer look. The leaves of the trees on the path followed a uniform design, and th...
Apocalypse Tamer 72: Man vs Specter
Previous Chapter----------------He woke up in his old bed.A man never forgot his bed. The smell of the bedsheets, the holes left in the mattress, the crumbs of chips forgotten after a wild night of gaming… each were telltale signs of the way a human being marked his territory. So although Basil Bohen hadn’t slept in it, he immediately recognized this bed for what it was.Home.“Basil, it is time.” Plato kneaded his best friend’s back. Bas...
