Fun idea - perhaps Daisy's old glasses are so thick, Mary can see us!
Touchy
Mary can't resist the squish
Mystery Solved
So that's why Daisy doesn't wear her glasses any more! It's certainly not because I got tired of drawing them, no sir!
Down to the wire
Two of this month's pics are now inked & flat-colored, and ready for shading! I can't say when they'll be done, though, because every time I start to relax, there's a new asset to work on for this contract, or some client-side emergency I need to help deal with... The work isn't particularly difficult or draining, but it still demands my full attention.
Mo & Davey
It's been a while since I did a pic of Monique that wasn't an alt of a Daisy pic, hasn't it?
Eevilllll
Looking back on my past few posts, they're a little light on info...Up until a little over a week ago, I thought I'd be contract-free until April. Then a new one came along. The good news - other than it being paid work - is that it's a Maya project, and it's not full-time or very demanding. Right now it's a bit rough, because my team is working out the process and the client's pipeline. For now, I'm hoping to have the ...
A little touchy
Not exactly a Valentine's Day pic, but who's complaining?
One from the back burner
It's been over a month since I've drawn anything, and this idea has been sitting on my tablet for much longer than that, so I'd say it's overdue!
Maya eyelid rig
My new class-based eyelid rig is finally working! It still needs some cleanup, but it's functional enough that hopefully now I can focus on other, sexier things for a while.
"princess" Penelope
I was inspired by "Plumber Peach" in this post on Twitter, so I decided to make a few tweaks to make her a separate character. I call her Penelope, or Penny for short!
That time again...
So, billing is paused again. Lately I've just been feeling wiped out. Moving twice in the past several months, the stress of the one contract at the same time as both moves, scrambling to get the Christmas thing done when there just wasn't enough time or energy for me to do so... it's all taken its toll.Spending the past month in Michigan hasn't helped much, either. The cold I can deal with. The often grey skies, not as much. My b...
Late Christmas
Christmas is FINALLY over!!
New Comic Site
I'd been thinking about this for a few weeks, and finally did it - Daisy's Diner now has its own domain!Migrating everything to the new site was more of an ordeal than I'd expected - for something that everyone tells me is "easy", it's eaten up half of my day so far.Moving the old site is only a start, though. The gallery is still a work in progress, and I may end up creating an age-gated sub-domain just to keep things som...
Late Christmas (updated, again)
Still working on this one! Hopefully I can have it colored by tomorrow.---Christmas ain't done yet! Don't let the Valentine candy at the store fool you!Now that my brother's place is quiet again - and the sun finally came out - maybe I can get this page done in a somewhat timely fashion... then I can get the image pack assembled. So, the sooner the better!
Happy Nude Year!
Show of hands - who didn't think there'd be a nude version of this one?Now that I've had time to shade it, I'm hoping to have a little more over the next few days to get the first comic page of Boob Socks drawn.
Stocking Stuffers
Posting as-is, in case I can't get the shading done tonight.Merry Christmas everyone!
Stocking Stuffers pg 2(?) WIP
Even if there's no time to do all of it, I'm still entertaining the idea of doing this as a comic, though for now I may focus on getting the top portion of this page inked & colored as a standalone piece.
Boob Socks planning
After taking a few days off for my mental health, and to work on some Python scripts, it's about time I plot out my Christmas idea, don't you think? The clock is ticking!I'm not sure I'll get all of this done in time for Christmas, but at the very least I'd like to knock out the top two pics. Then if there's time, I can worry about the filler.Mercy hugging Daisy isn't the end, either, but it's all I could scribble ...
New BtS article on rigging!
Part 2 of my Daisy modeling retrospective is live! This time, I discuss - at length - rigging and scripting. It's a bit long, and I may update in the next few days either to add more info, or to trim some of the excess.
Behind the Scenes - Modeling (and re-modeling) Daisy!
With Tumblr imploding recently, I decided it was time to give my personal site some much-needed attention. One major update I'm working on is a gallery, though keeping my SFW and NSFW pics separate has so far proved tricky... I'm tempted to just age-gate the entire thing.Something else I've been doing is typing up articles to give more of an inside look at Daisy's creation. My latest one covers the ongoing saga of modeling her in ...
Tis the Season?
Good news - the current phase of my contract is complete, and I am officially off for the rest of the month!Bad news? - by the end of that job, I hated pretty much everything, and dreaded any time Skype would ping. Now I'm taking a few days to relax and recover. One thing that does worry me a bit is, we're almost half-way through the month, I fly up to Michigan in a week, and for the past couple of weeks I haven't been able to think ab...
Back to back to OW MY BACK!!
I was hoping to have the next comic page drawn and assembled by now, but since that didn't happen, now I'm wondering if I should hold off on it and start planning the Christmas stuff instead. December is almost here, and while I should have the rest of the month off after the 15th, that doesn't leave much wiggle-room...Complicating everything, at the moment - I injured my back over the weekend, so it hurts to sit at my desk. I'm p...
Decision Time
Good - With so little free time lately, I've had to prioritize what I spend it on, and work on only one thing at a time. Personally I think getting this comic chapter drawn was the right choice, given how long it's been delayed!Bad - while I don't even have time to ink & color the comic at the moment, I also don't have time for any new ideas that pop into my head...An Overdue Confrontation's story isn't finished just yet -...
An Overdue Confrontation, pg 7
One thing that's not shown - the sudden flood of memories in Candice's head, of her 'sister' doting on her all her life, and Candy being a complete bitch to her in return...
Boo!
Did I ever mention that aunt Mercy is HUGE? Pretty sure it slipped my mind.
An Overdue Confrontation, pg 4
Player 3 has entered the game! Now that the first five pages are drawn, do I start inking and coloring, or keep going? Or perhaps I could use the next page as a break point, since it will catch up to where the Rose & Violet page ends?
Time to celebrate!
The Mantis dragon is now available in Dragonvale World, which means I can finally show off my work! This was the dragon my team had done as a paid test back in April, which then landed us the full contract. I was responsible for the rigging* and animation. I'll put together a video of the full set - along with some of the other dragons - when I get a chance.* also the scripts to do the rigging.
Battle of the Brows
Two more panels to go, and the next page is ready for assembly!
