[Patron-Only Feed] We're doing November now

Howdy! Welcome to November, the month that's slightly cooler than October but not as cool as December! That's a... It's a weather joke. Get it?A Minor ScareWe had a bit of a slow start into this month, because not only was I still recovering from last month's work, but because there was a minor scare this month. My grandfather had to go to the hospital, and since I'm the only one around here reasonably capable of forgoing slee...

[Patron-Only Feed] So, what next?

Thank you for your patience. I will be resuming work in just a few days.I know that I shouldn't feel bad about taking a break from work, especially since it's too easy to become totally absorbed in that work. What I do is a full-time job (of sorts) and I really should be resting more often and allowing myself time to step away from that work. I've been using some of this time to clean.Anyway, onto the Update…What to ExpectAs per usu...

[Patron-Only Feed] Taking it easy...

I worked hard on the Beaumont comic (harder than planned), so I've been trying to take it easy lately. I hope you don't mind that I've been taking a break. I always feel nervous when I step away from regularly producing work.I was so immersed in the workflow for the comic, it's a little strange to no longer be working on it. I'm kind of feeling a bit like -- well NOW what do I do? I'm also a bit nervous about producing art...

Comic Finished. My Thoughts.

After having taken a few days to reflect on my experiences developing Beaumont, I thought it would be a good idea to share my thoughts with you.So, I spent the last month working on the comic, and this affected the general flow of my day. Not only that, but it also changed how I interact with Patreon. The type of content & interaction offered this month is noticeably different from previous months.Focus on a Single ProductSIMPLER SCHEDULEI found ...

[Patron-Only Feed] Nearing the Endgame

I expect I'll go back and refine some of the pages before converting them into pdf format, but the most important thing is to finish first. At the time of writing this, the progress of the comic is at a good place. Here's how many pages are left: 5 sequential art pages 3 ending illustration pages 1 cover illustration pageSo the end is definitely within reach. I'm hoping to finish off the remaining pages by the end of the week.Non-Comic...

Shanoa Elayne

I've never played Order of Ecclesia, but I know that the Western localization gives Shanoa the reference to Castlevania 2 that I make with Elayne -- word for word, pretty much, haha! While I'm not too familiar with the later Castlevanias, I've always thought that Shanoa had a pretty cool design and I loved her use of colour.Earlier today, I received a Twitter message asking if I'd have ever thought to make Elayne cosplay Shanoa. I...

Elayne Beaumont Comic: Pages 19-27

NSFW WARNING: Nudity can be found on these pages.Pages 10-18 [here]This is the part where the pages get uncomfortable! This is a design I'd probably go over once or twice more, but we, unfortunately, can't afford to waste time, so I had to jump straight into work with what I had. It's a challenge and learning opportunity, I suppose -- as there are a lot of technical design choices I've had to make that I'd ordinarily want to ta...

[Patron-Only Feed] Progress is Progressing

Feeling pretty tired from working on the Beaumont comic, but we gotta hit that deadline. Not including the cover, we're pretty much at 50% completion. Here's how many pages are left: 16 sequential art pages 3 ending illustration pages 1 cover illustration pageThere's not too much to speak about right now; just trying to focus on work.I did some work on the latest Cassiopeia Quinn page, so if you don't already read it, perhaps you s...

Elayne Beaumont Comic: Pages 10-18

Pages 1-9 can be found [here].EDIT: Added pages 17-18.NSFW WARNING: Nudity can be found on these pages. The narrative! Like my gravy, it is thickening! We're entering the action sequences, and this is where I really wish I had more time. Because we're rushing through this, there are design decisions that I'd honestly like a lot more time to make look right. Alas, what can you do?This set of pages introduces the villains, though I think ...

[Patron-Only Feed] We're making headway

EDIT: The Monthly Dropbox Archive is now up to date with everything drawn this month.A good batch of NSFW Sketch Suggestions were completed, but most of this week was devoted towards working on the Elayne Beaumont comic. In my last post, I asked some questions about the Patreon experience; don't worry, it's only 2 simple questions. As we're moving to the end of the year, I like to get everyone's thoughts as I think about potential ...

Elayne Beaumont Comic: Pages 1-9

Since this comic takes so long to complete, I figured I'd post the early pages here and update as I go along. I don't want to leave you in the dark with it's development. The last 2 pages were actually the first to be drawn, and you can see that the linework is different, as it was before I transitioned into the style I'm working with now. I apologize for any inconsistencies, but I don't really have the time to redraw 2 whole p...

Bowsette

EDIT: Shell variant added.Y'know, I've never really joined in on the Bowsette hype drain last year, as fun as it was. I guess I just find it hard to spare time for non work related stuff... So here's a Bowsette that's actually better than last year's.... I forgot to draw her shell and shell, so that means this piece is a failure! I should be mindful of that next time.Don't forget to eat & sleep.

[Patron-Only Feed] Making comics is pretty hard, huh?

Note: This post has been made public for presentation purposes.Don't forget to check the Monthly Dropbox Archive if you haven't yet. It's up to date with everything drawn so far this month, even the NSFW sketches.Reflection: This WeekY'know... I wanted to produce 4-5 comic pages per day just so that I could finish by the end of this month, allowing me to spend all of October on Linktober without worry. But that was an unrealistic d...

[Patron-Only Feed] Let's Get to Work

The recent Concept Art post was a very brief one, as I have a lot of work to get to this month. Especially if I want to get enough done that I can participate in Linktober next month.Elayne Comic StatusLength: 40 pagesDeadline: October 31stI underestimated just how much time the pre-development work (scripts & concept art) would take, but I will begin work on the comic proper starting tomorrow. In fact, it is my only goal for the week. I will pos...

[Concept Art Discussion] Morning Sun Comic #0

EDIT: Images added to Environment section.NSFW Warning: Content contained within this post may be considered graphic.Length: 40 pagesDeadline: October 31stHopefully I'll finish it sooner, however. As previously said, I want to devote most of myself to Linktober in October. That means I'm going to have to work extremely hard on the comic this month if I want to make an impressive dent in my workload. The story has been fully scripted and wi...

Female Link (ICS variant)

Ian C Samson hasn't drawn a Female Link in a really long time, but he did have his own version of the character, and she used to be just as frequent as mine. I figured I'd draw her again this month, and I'm pretty content with it. I've never drawn her in a way that I feel is 100% faithful to Ian's work though... I think it has to do with his use of shapes. This version of Link was typically more modestly dressed than mine, but ...

[Patron-Only Feed] Writing is pretty hard, isn't it?

Work's been a bit slow this week, but I've spent a lot of my time writing, which tends to take much longer to see results from than my illustrations. I hope you don't mind.Script WritingWriting stories is such a long, arduous process sometimes… I've gone from a handful of different concepts, taken the things I liked from them, made a couple of different outlines, and then eventually formatted my results into an actual script. Th...

Judge Hershey

I always try to draw a Judge Hershey every year around this time, so this one is this year's.I've been hard at work on the script for Elayne Beaumont. I still have to flesh out the opening scene and the closing one -- that closing one's giving me a bit of trouble though. Not too much to say about this piece, but I hope you enjoy it!

[Patron-Only Feed] It's time to get to work

The last week was a quiet one, and I thank you all for your patience. I needed to take a break after last month's heavy workload and to prepare for this month's workload. Also, hi, new peoples! This WeekI plan to produce an illustration for the $3 Early Access tier. Perhaps a Bowsette? We'll see. I also expect to finish up the pre-development process for the Elayne Beaumont comic.Elayne Beaumont ComicAs many of you know, the primary obj...

[Patron-Only Feed] Plans for September & October

Although you might not think it, with how quiet the week was... I did quite a bit of work, huh. I usually only put about 2 columns of illustrations during these previews. I am a little tired.Anyway, that's enough about that. Let's talk about my thoughts on the months to come.SeptemberFocus on ComicNow, October 31st sounds like a dangerous deadline to me. That means I only have 2 months to create a comic on a property I haven't deeply ...

[Concept Art Discussion] Pokemon Trainer Design

Pokemon: I Choose You!When I was a kid -- like most kids, I suppose -- I was really into Pokemon. I owned every one of the games, between Yellow, Red, Blue, Green, Gold, Silver, and Crystal. Even those mislabeled Telefang games, Diamond & Jade. Though my interest in the franchise hasn't really persisted into adulthood, whether it be because of changes to the game franchise or a lack of free time. I did purchase both Pokemon Moon & Y in recent...

[Patron-Only Feed] Almost time to start moving [Updated]

That's quite a bit of work, isn't it? Be sure to check the Dropbox Archive, as it's up to date.[UPDATE] Plans for the WeekI'm prioritizing a Concept Art & Discussion thread for this week, though I'm not sure exactly how long it will be, as I may opt for something more in line with the first two threads made. The subject will either be related to a design pass at Ganon or Elayne Beaumont stuff. As for NSFW Sketch Suggestions, I&...
