I'm happy to announce the beta build was handed to our playtester crew today. If things go smoothly and no major problems are detected, we'll probably have an early release build ready by this weekend. It's a wide update with a lot of different paths and variables, so here's hoping that doesn't give our brave proofreaders too much trouble. Expect an official release dates post in a couple of days.
It's really hard to sit idle while the final stretch of polish happens, so I figured I wouldn't. I used this time to perfect a couple of minor details in the current update, and when that was done, I decided to continue the prologue remake I timidly started before 4.5 hit the shelves. Rosalind's first encounter with [Edwin] at the club will be completely remade by the time you get your hands on the new build! Still some work to be done, but it's looking pretty good if I may say so myself. I tried to preserve the framing and flow of the scene almost to a 1:1, but there will be some new animations in there. TD told me he might rework the text some, so there's that too.

I don't expect TD to rewrite a lot, mostly because the picture sequence will be near identical, altho some changes will definitely happen. Hardly a "from scratch" scenario, rest assured.

Oh man, a complete remake of that scene... While this is an exciting surprise for English players, I just wanted to share the perspective from the translation community. For us, this is a nightmare. It means all our previous work on that section is now obsolete and we have to redo everything from scratch. The workload is immense.
