I’m thinking maybe this show isn’t for you guys. Maybe it was of its time, and you had to be there to appreciate it in its original run- be in the zeitgeist as it were, maybe it’s just aged poorly and I can’t be objective about it, but I fear if you are nitpicking details and you haven’t found any real affinity for the characters this far into season one, you maybe just aren’t going to enjoy the rest of it. The season ends strong, so I would say if you aren’t engaged by then it might be worth giving the rest a miss and giving your valuable time to something else?

I'm not going to say "you guys didn't get it" because I know how much you hate that, and because you're not really wrong. This is one of the weakest episodes of S1. However, I feel compelled to remind you that BSG is playing the long game. So many things in this episode have major resolutions later, sometimes even seasons later. Some episodes set up the dominoes, some knock them down. And yes, if the episode isn't interesting up front, that's a fail. But if you stick it out, you'll be astonished at how many times early "throwaway" episodes take on a new significance. So say we all.

Always found this show to have either have amazing or meh episodes, never really consistent. I hope you stick around for atleast the first 2 seasons

I was excited that you guys were watching Battlestar Galactica, but damn reaction after reaction you guy just seem to hate everything about the show....
