kickstarter launching today+ EU option

gonna keep this short. kickstarter is launching today. also i'm working out a deal with archonia store so they would open a preorder option for the artbook on their site. this way you'd be able to order for most eu countries (not all unfortunately) and it would reduce the price because they would get the books bulk shipped and reduce the pricing that wayso that's some good news. we will also have a retailer tier on the kickstarte...

more artbook nonsense

all of these are still probably gonna ge one more final pass before the book is assembled. also wow, i'm actually nearing completion. about two dozen more to go2 days ago i may have gone kinda loopy and did a 29 hour painting marathon. i wasn't trying to do that but... it kinda happened.and no that's not a typo i did write 29 hour XD

crimson after hours within eu option

one of the things we do in the kickstarters is have a comic store tier for stores to order a bunch of books at the same time which makes the whole thing cheaper to ship. well there's a store that regularly orders our stuff and ships in europe. the store is called archonia, it's in belgium and they have preorders open for the copies they orderedreally hoping they will do the same with the upcoming artbook. just found that they have the ...

sunstone artbook kickstarter prelaunch page is up

because when i said any day now apparently i meant LITERALLY 2 MINUTES LATER! XDhttps://www.kickstarter.com/projects/topcow/the-art-of-sunstone-stjepan-sejic

more artbook stuff

calendar cover and some upcoming stickers for the kickstarter :)gonna be a fun one, prelaunch site should ge going live any day now so i will be sharing the link here when it does!now back to work, so much stuff to paint and draw and write and i'm genuinely enjoying it all!

more work for the artbook/calendar

i'm having a blast! XD

we're doing a slipcase as well

here's the artwork for it. it's one of those boxes that you keep a hardcover book in. kickstarter prelaunch page will arrive in a few days :)

an oldie reinterpreted

this time i went for more of a reinterpretation as the old piece while it had potential in its concept anatomically just didn't work makin the attempts at recreating it faithfully feel disjointed... in the most literal meaning of the word XDstill i like the end result. more of a reinterpretation than a remake. mind you like with the other ones, the old piece will also be featured in the artbook but as it is too small in its original form...

sunstone artbook dustjacket

i'm thinking of having the background red be shiny red metallic foil in print, just to fancy it up. we'll see if that is doable

say aah

some of the old remakes are gonna be pretty accurate tot he source piece, others however will use a source piece as a starting point for something very fun.this one is the lattermind you like with the previous ones, there is still some fine tuning to be done so if you plan on printing this for yourself i'd advise waiting until the illustration book is ready for assembly and i post updated versions finals hereas for the artbook and calendar ...

a very old thing updated

another of the old pieces with a fresh coat of paint. this was one of the earliest ones done way before sunstone was sunstone, however there were some small building blocks applied even then. mind you this is still being worked on. final passes wil be applied until it's sent to print so i'd wait on printing this one for yourselves. you will be provided a high resolution final at a later point :)

i'm just having a blast

kinda missed making fun illustrations ngl

a classic with a fresh coat of paint

something fun for the artbook. there is a few old pre sunstone/ early sunstone illustrations i want to recreate (while using the originals in the bonus section so both will be there)

some sunstone updates

also april calendar page:P (previous one will be swapped to may)so, i will not be updating sunstone here until december. not because i won't be making it. december update will be roughly 3 updates long so the pagecount will be there, it's a matter of me having to digest some stuff about this volumemarion is such an important character and it's very important to me to get her right. basically this is the part where i step back and obs...

listen...

my delivery will be erratic during these few months but you're gonna eat good cause i'm cooking! XDall of these will still get an additional final polish pass but i'm having a blast making them!

upcoming artbook kickstarter addon

so many of you know i got a sunstone artbook kickstarter releasing soon, but i decided i'd use that opportunity to do something silly. since the illustration book will also have a compilation of all the previous calendar illustrations within it among all the other sunstone illustrations i figured, fuck it... in for a penny in for a pound. so i'm doing a third callendar as an optional addon. like always al of the pics will be available...

i didn't forget ;)

new crimson update will be up in 4 days, it's a larger one and will be past months and this months combined so expect that on the 5th :)

sunstone book 9 update

marion is... a bit complicated.

the finale of fine print 3

okay, i've been fighting myself on this for days but there's just no real good way to slice this one up without ruining your reading experience so i decided i would just take these 3 months and finish the book without releasing the pieced up finaleno joke this is for your own reading pleasure. if you've been paying attention, fine print is a complex layered tapestry compiled of a multitude of threads and the finale of book 3 represe...

while waiting for the new sunstone update

been a wild month so i'll deliver sunstone in the upcoming month, probably a bit larger updatemeanwhile one finished and one wip illustration for the future artbook :)aaand back to work!

some work in progress progress :P

this one is now in the state where i get to start wrapping everything up before sending it to henke for slicing and testprinting. very hyped to see how it turns out when done as i'm getting more ambitious with hair sculpt by the day XDalso, soon we will be releasing bauphette print files!anyhow, back to comics :)

sunstone 9 update

apologies for the delay and the shorter update. turns out mental fatigue and creativity don't mix that well. been an overwhelming month and got into a but of a mental slump but i clawed my way out of it. now as for the shortness of the update (5 pages) i did make more, but then decided that narratively they messed up the flow of the whole thing and ruined the mood so i removed them. might use them down the line with a different dialogue th...

on a more fun note

image comics recently started publishing smaller versions of their hit books and they decided to include sunstone there as well.and the format is 6x9yeah... it's smallstone 69! nice!but joking aside if you got the usual editions you don't need these. only new thing about them are the covers and well... you can just get those pics here XDi'm not big on variants so you only see them if a publisher asks for something for a specific reaso...

some updates

so given the worrying state of payment providers pressuring online stores to block mature content, there may come a time here where i'll have to restructure the patreon. by that i mean i may need to set it to sfw works only.... aaand open a discord server for patrons :Pthat way you'll get updates for stuff like death vigil, the queen and the woodborn and achilles shieldmaidens here and for the rest of my creative works you'd have to v...

a quick thank you!

just... thank you for your support. crimson was a big success and it wouldn't exist if it wasn't for all of you. kinda crazy for such a silly book but here we are. this month both linda and i will be uploading the assembled digital version on our patreons. for those of you that don't know, crimson after hours like all of our other works is available on our patreons but this one is a special beast as the story is split in 2 pieces unt...

some fun stuff

a sort of a background longer term project of a sunstone artbook somewhere down the lineone of the things i'm doing for it is doing fun remakes of some of the earliest pieces i ever did before sunstone was ever sunstone this will be upgrades still as i take my time with these but it's gonna be quite nice when done

sunstone 9 update

it's getting a bit hot in here... must be the heatwave

launch time is noon pst

about 2 hours from now. this will be the last post about it here as i don't want to spam. anyhow, back to work!

a small p.s.a. about the crimson kickstarter

with that launching today, if you are already supporting the crimson tier here, don't sign up for the digital edition as... well, that's gonna be available here XD. digital will just be offered as a general option since most crowdfunders do it.anyhow back to work got a fine print episode to wrap up and this one is wild
