Logan Study Sketch
Every pin-up and bara artist on Twitter and Instagram has been drawing this pose. I couldn’t help myself. 😆
Iceman - Phone Wallpapers!
Got them phone wallpapers for Bobby! Next on the agenda, everyone's favorite furry blue elf. ;-)
Iceman Time-Lapse
Got the 30 sec time-lapse for Iceman attached below!Because I really liked the initial thumbnail on this one, I started by drawing directly over it so I wouldn't lose the gesture. One of the problems I kept running into, was trying to make Bobby stand-out against the water behind him. Some artists depict Bobby more white-ish, which would have solved my problem, but I was set on an aqua blue Iceman. I think I made it work in the end by making ...
Iceman - NSFW
Hope you like popsicles ;-P ;-P ;-P
Iceman - Final!
Got Bobby wrapped up! Or unwrapped I should say.I'll post up the wallpapers for all tiers tomorrow and the time-lapse for the OH My and OH GOSH Tiers. Stay frosty ya'll! ;-P
Iceman - WIP - Body
Got some more progress on Bobby. It’s easy to get overwhelmed painting unconventional skin texture, so I decided to simplify my approach and paint it fairly normal and after this, I’ll go back in to add ice detail and maybe some more faceted, icy planes. Also posted my reference model I posed in the Magic Poser App. It definitely helps me have more interesting lighting than if I was to make it up completely from my head.
Iceman - WIP - Face
Worked a little more on Bobby this evening. Mostly trying to figure out how I want to paint his ice body so I’m starting with the face. For reflective/shiny skin, I like to just feel it out as I go. Play with hard and soft edges. Define some planes. Let other planes be less defined. It feels like a puzzle and I just mess around with it until I find solutions that work for me. I’m liking where it’s at right now, but once I render the bo...
Iceman WIP
Finally done with my move which means I'm back at it again! Thank you all for your patience while I was having a busy couple of weeks. I had such a hard time picking which Iceman rough to do cause honestly, I was into them all, but this one was the most popular and I really love the Wolverine cameo.I'm approaching this one differently than the last one, doing a more detailed color rough/refined sketch. Not sure if I'll just paint stra...
Daken Study
Had Akihiro on the brain, so I had to do a quick sketch before hauling more boxes. One thing I'm grateful for on this move, is that it's just down the street.
Bobby Thumbnails
I can’t figure out which one I want to do! I really wanted to do Iceman in a swim/surf situation, mostly because I think he would be cute in a bikini and I like the contrast of ice and summer activities. I am kind of digging the fireplace on though. The idea there is that it that the ice bucket is made of ice and melts away for the spicy version. In other news, I’m posting this from the train as I make my way to Seattle for Emerald City. It’...
Winter Bear
It's been so cold and snowy here, I just want to cuddle up and hibernate. This was just going to be a sketch, but I think he's so cute, I want to finish this one up later to make as a print.
Ryu Study!
I wanna do a video game character poll at some point. Maybe fighting game boys.
February Poll
Hey patrons! As you know, I'm gonna do Iceman as my next pin-up but want to get a poll going for what I'm gonna do after. Let's vote on another round of X-Men studs.Edit(Bah, set the tiers wrong again)
Cyclops - Wallpapers
Got some phone-wallpapers for ya'll :-)
Cyclops - Time-lapse
Time-lapse attached below! The image has some of the references I used, but there's more in the video.I've painted pouty lips so many times, but I still usually need to take a picture to get it just right. ;-PThe software I use for the 3D model is the Magic Poser app, which I HIGHLY recommend. Super easy to use. In the video you see a piece of pin-up art by Bill Randall, who's one of my favorites. I love his colors and playfulness so ...
Cyclops NSFW!
Who knew Scott was such a slugger.
Cyclops Final!
Batter-up! Wrapped up Mr.Summer's tonight. I'll save out the wall-papers for all tiers tomorrow and the time-lapse for the OH MY! and OH GOSH!
Cyclops - Color WIP
Moving forward on with the colors. This phase I try to get the anatomy stuff down best I can. I want to get the body farther along before I get sucked into painting the face, which I can and probably will spend way too much time on.
Trash Pixie
Gonna share some other stuff while I make progress on Scott. This is an original character I've been working over the past year. I use to draw fairy folk a lot and I think it would be fun to make a group of pin-up pixies, imps, etc. Maybe even do some mini comics stories with them. He doesn't have a name yet but was making thinking Buzz or Bud?
Cyclops - Refined Sketch WIP
Working on next phase of Scott. This part can take me a long time as a fight between ‘accuracy’ and ‘feel’. I want to have solid anatomy and posing, but I don’t want to lose the initial gesture. At one point I spread his legs out more to make his stance more solid, but I felt like it lost the pin-upness. I eventually went back to a pose more like my original thumbnail. As for the references, the 3D model is from the Magic Poser App, ...
Cyke Sketches
Got some Scottie boy sketches going last night. I just knew I wanted to do a baseball theme for him.I think I'm settled on B, which may or may not be inspired by a viral baseball booty moment.
Poll Results!
First poll is closed with a narrow win for Cyclops at 45% with Iceman at 42%.Mr. Slim Summers it is!However this poll was so close, I think I’ll do Bobby right after Scott is wrapped up. 😘EDIT* Whoops! Had the OH MY! Tier unselected for some reason. Resolved now ;-)
Nightcakes - 01/29/2023
I wanna see Kurt with a mullet again.
Scott X Bobby - 01/26/23
Talk about a race for the ages. These two are neck and neck folks!
Warm-up Study - 01/25/23
I don't give myself the time to do studies. Want to more of these quick ones for practice. Might help me get faster, because I'm slow af. XD
Pin-Up Poll! First Class!
Welcome to the first Fan-art poll! X-Men is a favorite of mine so let's start with some classics!Poll Ends at midnight this Saturday!
Gambit Phone Wallpapers!
Got some phone wallpapers attached below!
Gambit(30 sec Time-Lapse)
Here's a 30 second time-lapse video for Gambit!I have a 20 min versions, but it's too large to upload and they have some minor hoops I need to jump through to get a longer video up on here. So I'll see what I can do to get that version up soon!
Gambit(Painting Process)
These are my WIPs of the painting process from sketch to final.1. I start off with a sketch, mostly figuring out the proportions, working the pose, etc. I try not to get too caught up in detail at this stage because I'm going to redraw it anyway.2. Next is my refined sketch. Here I try to work out most of the kinks. I don't always do this clean of a sketch, because I like to figure stuff out in paint, although that takes longer. I have a ...
Gambit Sketches and Thumbnails
I wanted a completed pin-up at launch so going forward I'll post these WIPS and sketches as I finish them. So I always start by doing really loose thumbnails sketches. Mostly to come up with poses I like, play with concepts, etc. Initially, I was thinking of having him in his basketball get-up if you all remember that moment in the comics. Then I thought a poolside or beach theme could be cute. Maybe Rogue on a beach chair behind him, checkin...
